MLL Wins U.S. Army Watercraft Mngmt Contract

Monday, September 21, 2009
Maersk Line Limited (MLL) has been awarded a contract for the Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) of U.S. Army watercraft. MLL will be responsible for the upkeep and readiness of a range of watercraft, including barges, tugs and various boats, stationed in Yokohama, Japan. The contract has a nine-month base term with four one-year options.

“We are pleased that the Army Sustainment Command has entrusted Maersk Line, Limited with the lifecycle management of their watercraft. We are confident that MLL’s 25 years of experience maintaining and operating government vessels and watercraft in overseas locations will translate into the highest levels of service for the Army,” said Bob Bowers, MLL’s Senior Director of Maritime Technical Services, the business unit that will perform the contract. “The COSIS win shows that the Army values the comprehensive solution we proposed, and it’s a tribute to our employees. We are ready to get started.”
