Stratos Introduces ChatCard Online 5.0

Thursday, December 04, 2008
Stratos Global Corp., a global provider of advanced mobile and fixed-site remote communications solutions, introduced ChatCard Online 5.0 to improve the order-processing performance of its ChatCard and eChatCard maritime crew calling services.

In the coming weeks, Stratos will migrate all ChatCard Online customers to ChatCard Online 5.0.

Stratos ChatCard is a way for shipping companies to enable crewmembers to stay in touch with family and friends while at sea - via voice, email, SMS and now prepaid Internet access via the recent introduction of ChatCard Data on emerging Inmarsat technologies. A prepaid calling card that can be reloaded online, ChatCard can be used on all Inmarsat and Iridium terminals, including FleetBroadband. A single ChatCard can be used with multiple satellite phones, providing flexibility to crewmembers and ship managers.

ChatCard Online 5.0 provides ship managers with a powerful tool for managing their entire ChatCard user base, offering cost-containment of crew-communications services. The application enables ship managers to: activate and deactivate cards; review status and usage of all cards; obtain card balances and reload any card any number of times; and transfer unused balances to another card.

Among its new features and enhancements, ChatCard Online 5.0 offers order-processing times that are up to three times faster than the previous version.

"ChatCard Online 5.0 makes our ChatCard services easier to administer," said Stratos Maritime Marketing Manager Michiel Meijer.

ChatCard Online 5.0 is the latest addition to The Stratos Advantage portfolio. Stratos incorporates The Stratos Advantage into each total customer solution. The Stratos Advantage services provide users with cost control, firewall management, full traffic information, pre-paid facilities, high security options, easy VPN access, messaging services and full IP range. The Stratos Advantage services include Stratos Dashboard, Stratos Trench firewall and AmosConnect messaging for business and crew.
