Transas Marine and VEI Form Alliance

Tuesday, September 03, 2002
Transas Marine (USA), Inc. of Lynwood, WA, and Valhalla Enterprises, Inc. (VEI), of Fort Lauderdale, FL, have announced a manufacturers’ alliance aimed at benefiting marine electronic dealers and recreational boaters. The agreement brings together VEI, a world leading manufacturer of flat panel displays and marine computers with Transas Marine, a world leader in electronic navigation products, vessel traffic systems and training solutions, marine surveillance, and simulation systems. Under the new alliance, VEI will distribute select Transas Marine navigation products to Transas Marine’s existing dealer network for the recreational market in the United States, the Caribbean and the Bahamas. Products covered under the agreement include the new generation Navi Sailor 3000 products, as well as the 2400, 2500 and Tsunami Navigator product lines. “The benefits to recreational boaters and commercial operators are substantial,” said Kelly Hulse, President of VEI. “The agreement broadens the support base for Transas Marine’s products. VEI’s strength is in serving owners of yachts and superyachts and we’ll bring that focus to the support of Transas Marine’s product line.” As part of its support for Transas Marine products, VEI has committed to providing a new training program for dealers, yacht owners and captains, Hulse said. VEI will conduct three training seminars each year. Each session will provide a week’s training for dealers and a second week for captains and yacht owners. “We’re excited that all these benefits will be provided to boating consumers with absolutely no increase in the prices of either Transas Marine’s or VEI’s products,” he said.
