Wednesday, March 05, 2008
Veson Nautical, the U.S.-based maritime software developer that delivers chartering, operations and accounting solutions for cargo transportation, announced it is expanding its director level in Singapore as well as its project management and human resources personnel in the U.S. to keep pace with its continuing growth and to ensure that the needs of its customers are met. Additionally Veson has ramped up new training and post-implementation support for its current clients.

John Veson, president of Veson Nautical remarked, “We continue to experience dynamic triple digit growth, with a significant portion coming from expansion within our existing customer base. Our customers value the new features and improvements we have instituted, as shown by their increased use of our products and services. As we continue to grow, we are strengthening our operations to better serve our users. We are very pleased to add Andy, Per and Sarah to our team.”

Asia Pacific Management, Boston Staffs Expanded

Andy Lee, Veson’s new Regional Director, Asia Pacific, comes to the company with more than 15 years experience in the enterprise software field. He has a strong track record in understanding client business processes and requirements, implementing tailor-made solutions, and supporting customers post-installation.

Prior to joining Veson, Lee worked at Allegro Development Asia Private Limited, in dual capacities as Product Marketing Manager and Senior Energy Consultant. He worked for several years in account management at Triple Point Technology, Inc. and also served as a technician for radar and communications in the Republic of Singapore Air Force. In his new position, Lee will join Xiaobang Yue and Robert Marx to lead the Veson Nautical Corporation Representative Office in Singapore. The staff will service Veson customers Thoresen Thai Agencies, The Australian Wheat Board, ConocoPhillips Singapore, Tesoro Singapore, and Rio Tinto among others.

Per Ostman will be working in Veson’s Boston headquarters as Project Manager. With a degree from Cornell University and solid communications background, he is well versed in adapting to ever-changing client needs using his technical expertise, a service orientation and innovative thinking. Ostman’s professional background includes serving as Marketing Manager for ICLUBcentral, a financial software company based in Harvard Square. He was also recently involved with the successful launch of The UpDown, a Harvard Business School startup web destination for young investors. In his new role as Veson’s Project Manager, Ostman will be working with several of Veson’s largest accounts to manage the roll-out of long-term projects and continuing to streamline product implementation with Project Director Jesse DiIanni.

Sarah Taffee also joins the Boston team as Manager of Organization Development. Taffee is adept at developing strategies for creating and retaining positive corporate culture as well as formulating programs for professional development and new staff integration. Sarah holds a Master of Education in Human Resource Development from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts in English Literature. Her eight years at Boston Scientific (formerly Guidant Corporation) included several promotions within their Web Services and Learning & Development departments. Taffee will handle all aspects of human resource management for Veson. She will also lead enhancement efforts in internal processes, knowledge management, communication, training and professional development.
