Auckland’s First High-speed Plug-in Electric Hybrid Ferry Announced

Aukland ferry operator Fullers360 announced a new electric hybrid fast ferry will join its fleet in 2023.The new electric vessel with hybrid capabilities will have capacity to transport approximately 300 passengers servicing the company’s Devonport route, with capacity to travel to other destinations as needed. All American Marine on Course to Double in Size

The Port of Bellingham is poised to change the layout of 7.66 acres of industrial property in Fairhaven and build new infrastructure to support the expansion of two major waterfront employers, All American Marine and Fairhaven Shipyard. “All American Marine and Fairhaven Shipyard provide over 150 family-wage jobs to our local community” said Port Commission President Dan Robbins. The Port worked closely with both tenants to develop a strategy for improvements which better supports existing operations and plans for future expansion. The entire site is impacted by historic industrial contamination and is scheduled for a major cleanup effort so any suggested changes required additional analysis to ensure compliance with state cleanup regulations.

Incat Crowther Contracted to Design Aukland NZ Ferry

Incat Crowther is to design a 34m catamaran passenger ferry for Fullers Group Ltd, the operator of the Auckland ferry network, and it is now being constructed by New Zealand builder Q-West. The vessel is the result of a thorough review of the network requirements, in which Incat Crowther worked closely with Fullers to design a vessel that is optimized to the network requirements and existing infrastructure and offers operational flexibility. The vessel’s 338 passengers will be accommodated over two decks, in a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces.

GAC Pindar Deliver Large US-built Motorboat to NZ

GAC Pindar in J/V with global freight forwarder TNL International, deliver a 7.6 mt Stamas boat from Georgia USA to Aukland, New Zealand. The privately owned motorboat, which is 3.93 metres high and 12.58 metres long overall, was handled with care for its 15,000km voyage. Before being loaded onto a ship bound for Auckland at Savannah, Georgia, it was shrink-wrapped and cradled on a special mafi trailer. Vessel Deliveries

California Fish & Game recently took delivery of P/V Thresher, a 54 ft. all-aluminum catamaran, designed by Teknicraft of Aukland, New Zealand, and built by Kvichak Marine, of Seattle, Wash. The partially foil-supported catamaran will be stationed in Dana Point as a Fish and Game Marine Enforcement patrol vessel for Southern California. The cat's beam is 20.2 ft., and weighs nearly 28 tons fully loaded. Powered by twin Caterpillar 3196 DITA diesel engines, driving 30 in. stainless steel propellers through Twin Disc MG 5114A gears, Thresher cruises at 26 knots with a top speed of 30 knots. Deck equipment includes an aft deck A-frame to deploy and retrieve a customer-supplied Hurricane inflatable.
