Babcock & Brown to Acquire Bluewater Wind
International investment firm Babcock & Brown (ASX: BNB - News), announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Bluewater Wind Delaware LLC and its parent holding companies, including Bluewater Offshore Holdings LLC and Bluewater Wind Holdings, LLC, in an effort to expand its portfolio of wind energy projects and contribute to its goal of developing offshore wind. Hunter Armistead, head of Babcock & Brown's North American Energy Development Group added that Bluewater will continue with negotiations with Delmarva Power toward executing a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), in a process that is being overseen by the Delaware Public Service Commission and three state agencies. Golar and Bluewater Partner in Bid for Offshore FSRU Project
Golar LNG announced that it has agreed to partner with Bluewater Energy Services B.V in bidding for an offshore LNG FSRU opportunity with 's national oil company, PetroSA. Golar and Bluewater will be equal partners in a joint venture formed specifically for this opportunity. Additionally, and in conjunction with this bid, Golar and Bluewater have agreed to acquire the 1977 built Moss type 126,000 m3 LNG Carrier, Hoegh Gandria. The vessel is intended to be used as the converted offshore FSRU.
Vessels: HOS Bluewater Delivered by Leevac
On March 16, 2003, Hornbeck Offshore Services (HOS) took delivery of the HOS Bluewater from LEEVAC Industries LLC. The vessel was delivered to Hornbeck Offshore two weeks ahead of schedule and immediately began a term charter for an unnamed operator. The HOS Bluewater is the first of four deepwater OSV's that will be delivered to Hornbeck Offshore by year's end. Designed by and built for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC, the HOS BLUEWATER is the company's seventh DP-2 vessel.
Bluewater Purchases Vessel from Knutsen
Bluewater Energy Services B.V. announced the purchase by Bluewater of the MT Hanne Knutsen tanker from Knutsen OAS Shipping AS. Delivery to Bluewater is expected to take place on or before June 30. The MT Hanne Knutsen was built in the Spanish shipyard Astilleros de Sestao and was delivered to Knutsen OAS Shipping AS in 2000. The vessel was designed as a typical North Sea shuttle tanker and has since been trading in Baltic ice regions and has also been in service as a shuttle tanker
Bluewater Wants to Bring Offshore Wind Farm to Del.
Bluewater Wind, a developer of off-shore wind energy, is one of the companies competing for a long-term energy contract with Delmarva Power. Delmarva Power is requesting a proposal for an energy provider to help stabilize the price of energy in the state. Bluewater Wind is one of the companies competing for the contract, along with NRG, which has proposed expanding its coal facility on the Indian River Bay. Delmarva Power will choose an energy company in November.
Aker Wins Bluewater Contract
Aker Maritime's Oil and Gas Technology unit reportedly won a five-year deal with U.K.-based offshore production contractor Bluewater Services worth about 40 million pounds. It said in a statement that under the deal, which was an extension of a previous four-year agreement, Aker Oil and Gas Technology would support Bluewater's three UK-based floating production units.

U.S. Barge Inks First Deal
U.S. Barge LLC, a company co-owned by Oregon Iron Works, Inc. (OIW) and Vigor Industrial LLC, has signed a contract for its first order. The company has agreed to build and deliver multiple bluewater, or ocean-going, barges to Young Brothers, Ltd. in Hawaii, with the first barge to be delivered in late September of 2007. U.S. Barge will invest approximately $8m in new equipment on Swan Island and in Clackamas, OR in order to build barges and other watercraft.
Technip Awarded Contract from Bluewater Industries
Technip has been awarded a contract by Bluewater Industries, Inc. for the flowlines, risers, jumpers and subsea structures for the Mirage field development, in the Gulf of Mexico. This field is located in Mississippi Canyon Block 941, at a water depth of 4,050 feet.
