Concordia Maritime's and Brodosplit shipyard's boards have issued final approval of the newbuilding contract for vessels number seven and eight in Concordia Maritimes P-MAX-series. Estimated time for delivery is the 4th quarter 2009.
Concordia and Stena Bulk Awarded Environmental Diploma
At World Shipping Day in Gothenburg, Concordia Maritime and Stena Bulk will be awarded Sjöfartsforum’s Environmental Diploma for Stena’s in-house developed MAX vessels. Stena Performance Christened
Klas Eskilsson, head of Stena Bulk welcomed Hans Noren, President of Concordia Maritime, Kim Ullman, Executive Vice President and COO of Stena Bulk, along with other Stena executives and local dignitaries to the christening ceremony for Concordia Maritime’s new P-Max product tanker the Stena Performance. Mary Uhles, wife of Captain Douglas Uhles of Hess Corporation, has agreed to act as sponsor for Stena Performance. The vessel is on a five-year charter to Hess Corporation.

Suezmax tanker 'Stena Supreme' delivered to Sweden's Concordia Shipping by Samsung Heavy Industries of Geoje, South Korea The Stena Supreme is a crude oil tanker and with a length of 274 m, largest vessel in Concordia Maritime’s fleet. Costa Concordia – USCG Assists Investigation
U.S. Coast Guard is helping Italian authorities investigate the Costa Concordia disaster. Vice Admiral Brian Salerno told a House Committee the USCG is also on guard against safety violations on foreign flagged vessels that use U.S. ports. Concordia Maritime Signs Agreement with TOTAL
Concordia Maritime and the French oil and energy company TOTAL signed an agreement today covering charters totalling nine years for three different P-MAX tankers. The agreement is for a 5-year time charter of the Stena Progress, which will be delivered from Brodosplit Shipyard at the end of 2009 as well as 2-year extensions of the existing charters of the sister ships Stena Paris and Stena Provence, whose current 5-year charters expire in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

Concordia Maritime took delivery of the MR tanker Stena Paris built at Brodosplit Shipyard in Split, Croatia. Stena Paris is the first P-MAX tanker in a series of six vessels built at Brodosplit Shipyard. Stena Paris is on a five year charter to the French oil company TOTAL.
Stena Vision Repair Prolonged
Arlington Tankers Ltd. was notified by its vessel manager, Northern Marine Management Ltd. (Northern Marine), that one of its two VLCC tankers, the Stena Vision, built in 2001, will now commence a prolonged period of repair due to an engine maintenance program. Costa Serena Takes Shape in Italy
Costa Crociere announced the name of its new ship, which will join the fleet in May 2007. The ship was named Costa Serena during a ceremony of the laying of the first building block for the ship in the dock at Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente shipyards in Genoa.
