Coldharbour Marine Joins IMarEST Marine Partner Scheme

Coldharbour Marine Ltd., UK-based marine inert gas and ballast water treatment specialists, has joined the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) Marine Partner scheme as a Marine Affiliate, able to draw on the numerous advantages of corporate partnership with IMarEST, a professional body for the global marine community. “We are delighted to welcome Coldharbour Marine as Marine Affiliates, which offers them a package of services, employee engagement, professional development opportunities, networking, technical support and information opportunities, providing them with a platform to demonstrate their strong commitment to developing employee skills,” said IMarEST’s Chief Executive, David Loosley. “Each partner in the scheme, and we now have over 40 globally, has different needs, and we develop our partnership arrangements to suit those requirements. Yank Marine Upgrades Marine Travelift Hoist at Tuckahoe Yard

A new 300 mt marine lift for Yank Marine is being installed at its Tuckahoe, NJ shipyard. This new 300 metric ton marine lift was transported from Marine Travelift in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin on ten trucks and is currently being erected on site. It was purchased using a $961,676.00  grant from the Maritime Administration under the Assistance to Small Shipyards Grant Program, and will replace Yank Marine Inc.’s  existing 200 metric ton Marine Travelift.

BP Marine and Houston Marine Team Up On Bunkering Venture

BP Marine and Houston Marine Services (HMS) are joining forces to begin a new chapter in ship bunkering in the western U.S. Gulf. Effective, April 2, HMS became BP's dedicated logistics provider in an area from Brownsville, Texas to Lake Charles, La. BP Marine will serve as the marketing arm for bunker sales on behalf of the joint venture and will supply bunker fuel across a broad geographic area of the Gulf.


Drew Marine Completes Aqcuisition of Alexander Marine & Safety

Drew Marine has completed the acquisition of Alexander/Ryan Marine and Safety Inc., and it will join the organization under the name Alexander/Ryan Marine & Safety division of Drew Marine.  With locations in the United States (Louisiana and Texas) and in the United Kingdom, the division brings 82 new employees to Drew Marine.   Alexander/Ryan Marine & Safety is a manufacturer and distributor of fire, safety and rescue equipment to the Offshore and Marine markets

Jeppesen Marine Launches Marine Business Unit

Jeppesen has launched a marine business unit and announced leadership appointments, both for the recreational and commercial marine market segments. Michael Neal has assumed the position of director, marine business development. Neal is responsible for business development activities across all Jeppesen Marine market segments, including the commercial marine segment. Responsibilities also include longterm strategy development, new product research, mergers, acquisitions and more.

Vigor Marine LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vigor Industrial, has completed the asset purchase of Marine Industries Northwest, Inc. (MINI) in Tacoma, Wash. The transaction closed on August 9, 2010 and Vigor Marine officially began vessel repair and conversion operations the same day.
