LADY MOURA at Blohm + Voss

After having stayed at Blohm + Voss in 1992, 1997 and 2003, the mega yacht LADY MOURA has started her fourth visit yesterday to Blohm + Voss Repair, a company of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems. Following a short stop at Überseebrücke, the LADY MOURA was hauled into floating dock No. 6 in the evening. In addition to general repair and refit work, various comprehensive preservation work on both the hull and the superstructure will be part of the job. The work is scheduled to be completed in February 2007. The LADY MOURA was built in 1990 by Blohm + Voss in accordance with a design of the Italian architect Luigi Sturchio. She has a length of 105 m, a width of 18.5 m and a draught of 5.40 m. Her tank capacity allows transatlantic crossings and the crew area alone provides enough space for 61 crew. During each of the years 2005 and 2006, Blohm + Voss Repair has repaired/overhauled five yachts.


Omega Navigation Rescues Man at Sea

Omega Navigation Enterprises, Inc. said that on January 3, 2008, the crew of its product tanker M/V Omega Lady Sarah rescued an American citizen whose yacht sank off the coast of the Bahamas. The M/V Omega Lady Sarah was on a laden voyage from New Orleans to Gibraltar when its crew members intercepted, off the coast of the Bahamas, a distress call from the sailing yacht, Alchemy. Yacht Assists Crew in Atlantic Rescue

The largest single masted yacht in the world assists 33 foot yacht in Atlantic rescue. The Falmouth Coastguard were contacted by their colleagues at Thames Coastguard who received a telephone call from a lady crew member on the yacht Compromise competing in the ARC Challenge 2006. Falmouth Coastguard contacted the yacht and spoke to the lady crew member who reported that she had a medical emergency on board. Chicago's Little Lady Debuts

Trinity Delivers M/Y Lady Michelle

Lady Michelle is a semi-displacement hull design with 28 ft. (8.5m) beam and is capable of 19 knots and is powered by two Caterpillar 3512B main engines which develop 2,250 hp each. The shallow draft of 7.5 ft., enabling it to gain access to many ports uncommon for a yacht of this size. A 16,100 gallon (62,460 L) fuel tank will allow a large cruising range of approximately 4,200 nm at 10 knots (with 10% fuel reserved).

Farstad subsidiary, Farstad Shipping, Singapore, sells AHTS 'Lady Cynthia'. The buyers identity is not disclosed, but it is expected the vessel will be deployed in the Indian domestic market. Lady Cynthia was built in 1987 by Hart Fenton with a propulsion power output of 9,500 BHP. Sale of the vessel will give Farstad a booked profit of approx. NOK 3 mill. in the 1st quarter 2013. Overboard Sailor Rescued off French Coast

A British man has been rescued after falling overboard from a yacht off the coast of Ushant in France. Brixham Coastguard received a 999 call just after 3 p.m. this afternoon reporting that one of the two people on board the yacht had been washed overboard by a large wave.
