Petroleum Geo-Services Awarded Two Seismic Contracts

Petroleum Geo-Services ASA was recently awarded a seismic contract in deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Petroleum Geo-Services will utilize its proprietary 3D marine seismic vertical cable technology for the contract awarded by Phillips Petroleum Company in deepwater Gulf of Mexico in the Garden Banks area. The contract will involve one month of high-density data acquisition.


Global Firms Compete for Awali Oilfield Contract

Aker Kvaerner Awarded Subsea Contracts in Brazil

Aker Kvaerner has been awarded two contracts from Petrobras to supply a total of three subsea manifolds for two of the Brazilian oil giant's projects offshore Brazil. Combined contract value is approximately USD 90 million. Aker Kvaerner Subsea in Brazil will design, manufacture and deliver two oil production manifolds for Petrobras' Albacora RWI project in the Campos Basin, and one gas export pipeline-end manifold to the Jubarte phase II project


General Dynamics Awarded $20 Million for Submarine Maintenance

The U.S. Navy awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat a $20 million contract modification for nuclear-maintenance work for submarines homeported at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton. Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics. Under the contract, Electric Boat will continue to operate the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department (NRMD) at the submarine base. The company will provide project management, planning, training and nuclear services to support maintenance


McDermott Awarded Two Saudi Aramco Contracts

McDermott International, Inc subsidiary awarded two projects for Saudi Aramco in the Arabian Gulf in the Karan, Safaniya and Zuluf fields The first project, Karan-45, comprises fabrication of a new wellhead platform, auxiliary platform, jacket and link bridge, with subsea installation of a 20-inch flowline and a 15kV composite power and fiber optic cable. Project management, engineering and procurement will be undertaken at McDermott’s engineering office in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia


MarAd Announces Ship Disposal Contracts

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) has awarded new contracts to dismantle two ships from the James River Reserve Fleet at Fort Eustis, VA, the agency announced today. The work will go to Bay Bridge Enterprises, LLC, of Chesapeake, VA. The two ships will bring to 14 the number of ships that have left the James River site for disposal in the past year, and to 41 the number that have left since January of 2001. ACMA, VT Halter Awarded NOAA Contract

Alan C. McClure Associates (ACMA) said that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) awarded ACMA and VT Halter Marine Phase II of a three-part contract that calls for the design, development and construction of a new Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) coastal mapping vessel (CMV). Initially, NOAA awarded two teams the chance to participate in the first phase of the project. ACMA and VT Halter Marine were one of the two teams that qualified for Phase I


Halifax, Victoria Shipyards Win Refit Contracts

The federal government awarded two contracts Monday worth a total of $900 million to shipyards in Halifax and Victoria to maintain and upgrade 's 12 frigates - considered the workhorses of the navy. The contract for the Halifax Shipyards is worth $549m, while the contract in is valued at $351m. The contracts are the first in a series that are expected to be awarded from $3.1b that is being made available for a mid-life refit of the Halifax-class frigates.


Donjon to Salvage Archeological Sites

Donjon Marine, Co., Inc. has been awarded two separate contracts for salvage work on archaeological sites in Texas and N.Y.   On October 6, the U.S. Navy awarded an archeological site removal contract to Donjon to perform diving, clam-shell dredging and wreck removal services to a Civil War gunboat – the USS Westfield – that was sunk by Southern fire during the Battle of Galveston in 1863. The sunken vessel lies in 40 feet of water in Galveston Bay in Texas
