Vard Holdings Limited announced that it has secured a contract for the design and construction of one Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) for E.R. Offshore. The vessel is a multifunctional PSV of VARD 1 08 design with a total length of 81 meters, beam of 18 meters and a cargo deck area of 830 m2. The vessel will be prepared for standby, rescue, firefighting and oil recovery operations. Delivery is scheduled from Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam in 2Q 2016. E.R. Offshore has also taken over the contract for a sister vessel from Carlotta Offshore via a novation agreement.

Leevac Shipyards Jennings LLC,  Jennings, La., signed contracts with Aries Marine, Inc of Lafayette, La., to build two LEEVAC Design Services “LDS” 270 DE PSV, a 270 x 56 x 21.5 ft. diesel electric Platform Supply Vessels (PSV). “We are very excited to have this opportunity to begin this partnership with a company like Aries Marine” said Christian Vaccari, President of LEEVAC. The LDS 270 DE PSV will have a deadweight capacity of 4000 LTsw and will carry more than 13,000 barrels of liquid mud. Each will be powered by four 3516C Caterpillar generators rated at 1825 kw each.

Jackson Offshore Operators contracts BAE Systems’ shipyard in Jacksonville, Florida, to build 2 platform supply vessels (PSVs). The contract reflects continued growth in U.S. commercial shipbuilding for BAE Systems and is another major step forward in the company’s support to the oil and gas industry. Each of the Jackson Offshore Operators vessels will be qualified under the U.S. Jones Act and will measure 252 feet long and 60 feet wide. Fincantieri Marine Group (FMG) announced that its Bay Shipbuilding Company will build two 303-ft Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) of the MMC 887 LH PSV Design from MMC Ship Design of Poland for New Orleans, La.-based Tidewater Marine, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tidewater Inc. The Deepwater Platform Supply Vessels, to be built at FMG’s shipyard Bay Shipbuilding Company, located in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., will be state-of-the-art vessels with diesel-electric z-drive propulsion, dynamic positioning 2 (DP-2) system, polar class 7, fire-fighting class 2 (FFV 2) system, and ENVIRO. Aker Yards, via its wholly owned subsidiary, Aker Brevik, has entered into a contract with Island Offshore VIII KS in Ulsteinvik, Norway, to deliver a UT 755LN platform supply vessel. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 130 million. This is the fourteenth contract between the shipowner, Island Offshore Group in Ulsteinvik and Aker Yards and the third for delivery in 2005 between Aker Brevik AS and the Island Offshore Group. The hull for the PSV will be built at Vyborg Shipyard in Russia, and will arrive in Brevik in August this year. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for medio December 2005. The platform supply vessel for Island Offshore is designated newbuilding number 41 at Brevik Construction AS.

Aker Yards has entered into a contract with Portosalvo Ltd.for building of one Platform Supply Vessel based of the design Aker PSV 09 CD. The value of the contract is approximately $53.2m. Delivery is scheduled in 4Q 2010. Portosalvo Ltd. also has an option for one more identical vessel. The vessel will be equipped with dynamic positioning, diesel electric propulsion and will have the class notation Clean Design. The vessels are designed for good sea keeping performance, low fuel consumption and environmental friendly operations. The hull for the vessel will be built at Aker Yards in Romania and outfitted at Aker Yards in Norway.

The value of the contract is approximately NOK 150 million. This is the 18th contract between the shipowner, Island Offshore in Ulsteinvik and Aker Yards. The hull for the platform supply vessel will be built in Romania and the vessel will be outfitted in Brevik. Delivery is scheduled for primo November 2007.

Aker Yards has confirmed an optional agreement with Siem Offshore Inc for the building of two Platform Supply Vessels. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 275 million. Delivery is scheduled for second quarter 2007 from Aker Yards, Aukra. The vessels are of Vik Sandvik design, VS 470 Mk II. The vessels will be equipped with dynamic positioning, special product tanks, azimuth thrusters and accommodation for 34 persons.

Farstad Shipping ASA, through its subsidiary Farstad Supply AS, has signed a contract with Aker Yards to build a UT 751 E platform supply vessel. The hull for the PSV will be built in Romania and outfitting yard will be Aker Yards Brevik. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for July 2007. The vessel will upon delivery enter into the long term contract that was recently awarded by Norsk Hyrdo

Aker Yards has signed a contract with Farstad Supply to deliver an UT 751 E platform supply vessel. The value of the contract is approx $45M. This is the 17th contract between the shipowner Farstad Shipping ASA and Aker Yards. The hull for the PSV will be built in Romania and outfitted at Aker Yards, Brevik. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for July 2007.

Aker Yards signed a contract worth approximately $22.8 million with Olympic Shipping to build a Platform Supply Vessel of the MT 6009 design. Delivery is scheduled for December 2006. "We are pleased to have received another newbuilding order from Olympic Shipping," said Roy Reite, in charge of Aker Yards' Offshore & Specialized Vessels business area. "This contract confirms our long and good relationship with Olympic Shipping, which currently has two vessels under construction at our yards".
