Diana Shipping Announces Time Charter Contract for Protefs with Transgrain

 Diana Shipping has  chartered the 73,630 dwt, 2004-built panamax, Protefs to Transgrain shipping for 12 – 16 months at a rate of $4,500 per day minus 5% commission.   This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$1.55 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.   Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 43 dry bulk vessels (2 Newcastlemax, 14 Capesize, 3 Post-Panamax, 4 Kamsarmax and 20 Panamax).    Diana Shipping also expects to take delivery of three Panamax dry bulk vessels by the end of March 2016, one new-building Newcastlemax dry bulk vessel during the third quarter of 2016, as well as one new-building Newcastlemax dry bulk vessel and one new-building Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel during the fourth quarter of 2016.    As of today, the combined carrying capacity of Diana Shipping’s fleet, excluding the six vessels not yet delivered, is approximately 5.0 million dwt with a weighted average age of 7.48 years.  


Diana Shipping Announced Vessel Delivery, Time Charters

Danish Shipping Firm Sells Tankers

A/S Dampskibsselskabet Torm, a Danish shipping company, is selling three of its tankers for a total of $63m. The move is part of Torm's strategy of selling older bulk vessels so it can build its fleet of bigger Panamax bulk vessels. Torm did not disclose who is buying the three older vessels. Following delivery of the three vessels, TORM's owned fleet will consist of 30 product tankers and five dry bulk vessels. Besides its owned fleet, the company operates nearly 100 ships


Diana Shipping fixes Post-Panamax

  Diana Shipping Inc. announced today that through a separate wholly owned subsidiary, it entered into a time charter contract with ADM International Sarl, Rolle, Switzerland, for one of its Post-Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Alcmene. The gross charter rate is US$6,750 per day minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum twenty-one (21) months to about twenty-four (24) months. The charter is expected to commence on May 12, 2015.

The gross charter rate is US$5,150 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum eleven (11) months to maximum fourteen (14) months


Diana Shipping Charters Bulk Vessel to RWE

Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, has announced that it has entered into a time charter contract with RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, Essen, Germany, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, for one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels, the m/v JK Pioneer, to be renamed P. S. Palios. The gross charter rate is $18,350 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of about 22 months to maximum December 31, 2015


Diana Shipping Charter Out Panamax Bulker at Daily US$11k

Diana Shipping Inc. has time- chartered out the 75,336 dwt MV Triton to Bunge S.A., Geneva, at a gross charter rate of US$11,000 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of up to minimum September 1, 2014 to maximum October 31, 2014. The charter is expected to commence on December 8, 2013. The owners add that this employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$2.86 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the charter.

Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, today announced that it has agreed to extend the present time charter contract with Clearlake Shipping Pte. Ltd., Singapore, for one of its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Myrsini. The gross charter rate will remain $15,500 (USD) per day, minus a 4.75% commission paid to third parties, for a period of up to minimum February 15, 2015 to maximum May 10, 2015

 Diana Shipping Inc. has through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary took delivery of the m/v Medusa (formerly ”Torm Island”), a 2010-built Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel of 82,194 dwt that the company entered into an agreement to purchase in April 2015.   Athens-based dry bulk specialist also announced that it entered into a time charter contract with Clearlake Shipping Pte. Ltd., Singapore, a member of the Gunvor Group, for the Medusa.
