Canyon Offshore Wins Contract on Deepwater Canyon Express
Canyon Offshore has been awarded a one-year Remotely Operated Vehicle services contract to support maintenance on the Canyon Express development in Mississippi Canyon in the Gulf of Mexico. At 7,200 feet of water, Canyon Express is the deepest operating production project in the world and includes three separate gas fields, King’s Peak, Aconcagua and Camden Hills. Under the terms of the contract, Canyon will provide integrated ROV and DP vessel services on an ongoing scheduled and callout basis. Initial planned work includes a detailed baseline CP and visual survey of the East and West flowlines, and the main umbilical and methanol coiled tubing lines. In addition, Canyon will replace subsea chemical injection valves and undertake other field maintenance and intervention tasks as required. With its extensive deepwater experience, coupled with its large inventory of deepwater assets that include the deepwater QUEST and Triton XLS work class remotely operated vehicles, the M/V Merlin and M/V Mystic Viking support vessels and access to specialized vessels from Canyon's parent company, Cal Dive International, Inc., Canyon is particularly well equip to support this contract. Canyon Offshore Appoints Commercial Manager

Canyon Offshore Enters Trenching Agreement
Canyon Offshore has signed a three-year Frame Agreement with Coflexip Stena Offshore Norge AS (CSONOR) to provide trenching services supporting CSONOR’s installation activities in Norway. The agreement is also open to all Technip-Coflexip entities worldwide. The primary equipment engaged under this agreement will be Canyon’s new Triton 750 Trencher, currently being manufactured by Perry Slingsby Systems Ltd. at their Kirbymoorside facility in the United Kingdom.
Williams Commissions New Offshore Platform
A unit of Williams has announced that it has commissioned a new production handling platform in federal waters approximately 60 miles south of Mobile Bay, Ala. Gas production from approximately 35,000 acres of federal leases is dedicated to the platform. Construction of Williams' Canyon Station -- a fixed-leg platform in 300 feet of water in East Main Pass Block 261 -- was completed on schedule at the end of June. Commitment for Deepwater Frontier
R&B Falcon Drilling has received a letter of intent from for Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobas) for a two-year contract for DP drillship Deepwater Frontier, for operations offshore Brazil in up to approximately 8,900 ft. of water. Deepwater Frontier, capable of drilling in up to 10,000 ft. of water, is owned 60 percent by R&B Falcon Corp. and 40 percent by Conoco. Conoco, Unocal Find Deepwater Oil Near New Orleans
Conoco Inc. and Unocal Corp. discovered oil with their K2 exploration well in the Green Canyon Block 562 in deep water in the Gulf of Mexico, Conoco said. Work on the well, located about 180 miles (290 km) south of New Orleans, has been suspended to study the significance of the find, a company spokesperson said.
