Coflexip Unit Wins Pipeline Contract In GOM

Coflexip Stena Offshore Inc. was awarded by Williams Energy Services a large EPCI contract for the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of two 18-in. export pipelines, totalling 160 miles from the Devils Tower field development, located in 5,700 ft water depth in Block 773 of the Gulf of Mexico, to shallow water tie-in locations at the shelf edge. The contract work scope comprises project management, engineering, procurement and installation of two export pipelines consisting of 160 miles of 18-in. pipeline, 12 miles of 14-in. pipeline and two 14-in. steel catenary risers (SCR). CSO will also be responsible for hooking up of the SCRs to the new-built Dominion Exploration Devils Tower Spar, diving work in the shallow waters and all pre-commissioning activities on the oil and gas export lines including pigging, hydrotest and drying of the gas export line. The pipelines will be fabricated by CSO at its new spoolbase at Mobile, Ala., and the installation will be completed by the CSO Deep Blue, the CSO's new-built ultra deepwater pipelay and construction vessel, utilising the reel lay method. Installation is scheduled to take place in the second half of 2002 with the riser hook-up being completed in January 2003. The two reeled SCRs to be installed to the new Devils Tower Spar in 5,700 ft. (1,750 m) will be the deepest 14-in. SCRs installed to date.


CSO Seawell Docks at A&P Southampton

A&P Southampton recently welcomed a slightly unusual vessel to their dry-dock. The ship repair, maintenance and conversion company, whose customers mainly consist of Cruise, Ferry, and Trading Vessels have successfully completed a refit of Coflexip Stena Offshore’s CSO Seawell, an offshore support vessel at their King George V dry-dock. The ‘Seawell’ is a highly technical vessel accommodating three moonpools, two diving bells, divers decompression chambers


Canyon Offshore Enters Trenching Agreement

Canyon Offshore has signed a three-year Frame Agreement with Coflexip Stena Offshore Norge AS (CSONOR) to provide trenching services supporting CSONOR’s installation activities in Norway. The agreement is also open to all Technip-Coflexip entities worldwide. The primary equipment engaged under this agreement will be Canyon’s new Triton 750 Trencher, currently being manufactured by Perry Slingsby Systems Ltd. at their Kirbymoorside facility in the United Kingdom.

Coflexip Stena Offshore said its new-built ultra deepwater pipelay and subsea construction vessel, the CSO Deep Blue, was delivered on March 1, by Hyundai Mipo Dockyards after is successfully completed sea trials. CSO Deep Blue – at the time of the release — was sailing to the Netherlands, where her unique CSO designed pipelay equipment, will be installed. This pipelay system will allow the vessel to lay rigid pipe (reeled and J-Lay), flexible pipe, and umbilicals down to 8,200 ft

Erika To Be Emptied

TotalFinaElf picked Coflexip Stena Offshore and Stolt Offshore to pump oil from the tanker Erika, which sank off France's Atlantic coast. TotalFinaElf, which has faced widespread criticism in France for the disaster, has agreed with the government to pump up to 15,000 tons of heavy fuel still believed to be trapped in the holds of the tanker. CDI Installs First Reeled Riser In The Gulf Of Mexico

Houston-based Cal Dive International established another Gulf of Mexico first when it installed a reeled flowline/riser combination for Kerr-McGee in East High Island block A-379 in 350 ft. of water. Cal Dive utilized its newly established Pipe Spool Base at their Morgan City, Louisiana operational headquarters to: weld, x-ray, sand blast and coat 14,000 ft. of 4.5 in. 337 wall pipe with fusion bonded epoxy. Stena RoRo Charters Three Vessels

Concordia Maritime Boosts Suezmax Market Presence

International tanker shipping company Concordia Maritime has signed an agreement to charter 50 percent of a vessel in the Suezmax crude oil segment for a period of one year from August 2015, with an option for an additional year.
