Daewoo Wins $2 Billion FPSO Order From Inpex

SEOUL - South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering said on Thursday that it had received an order worth $2 billion to build a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel for Japan's top oil and gas explorer, Inpex Corp. Daewoo said it planned to deliver the vessel by April, 2016. The vessel will be in operation for Inpex's Ichthys project in the Browse Basin offshore Western Australia, Daewoo. (Reuters)

Technip Awarded Supply Contract for Australian Gas Field

Inpex Corporation awarded Technip a flexible pipe supply lump sum contract for the Ichthys gas field in Australia. Inpex has novated this contract to McDermott as part of the overall subsea umbilical, riser, flow line EPCI contract. The Ichthys LNG project is a Joint Venture between Inpex (76 percent, the Operator) and Total (24 percent). Gas from the Ichthys field, in the Browse Basin approximately 200 kilometers offshore Western Australia


Australian Offshore LNG Project Chooses Intergraph Software

Intergraph® SmartPlant® Enterprise selected by operator, Inpex, to manage information for mega-project, Ichthys LNG. Inpex has implemented SmartPlant Enterprise solutions for the Ichthys LNG Project, including SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators (SPO) as its information management system, SmartPlant 3D and SmartMarine® 3D (collectively known as Smart 3D), SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant P&ID and SmartPlant Electrical.


LNG Offshore Mega-Project Contract for Phusion

UK headquartered Phusion appointed as Data Management Contractor (DMC) for the INPEX-led Ichthys LNG Mega-Project. The six-year contract is worth £11.5 million (AUD17.6m). The deal extends Phusion’s growing portfolio in Australia where the company is already engaged on the giant Chevron Gorgon project. Phusionwill assist INPEX by efficiently managing enormous amounts of engineering data associated with the Ichthys LNG Project

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to build a 7th pea-pod superstructure shape "Sayaendo" LNG carrier for a "K" Line/INPEX subsidiary joint venture. Sayaendo series ships feature a unique structure that integrates the LNG tank cover with the ship hull, resulting in significantly improved fuel consumption and maintainability. The order was placed with MHI by Ocean Breeze LNG Transport, Ltd. (OBLT), a joint venture between Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd


HMC’s Aegir Arrives in the Netherlands

Heerema Marine Contractor’s new Deepwater Construction Vessel Aegir arrived in Rotterdam’s Caland Canal after a journey of almost two months from the DSME shipyard in Okpo, South Korea where it was built. The 210m long and 46.2m wide vessel will move to the Huisman yard in Schiedam in April where the pipelay equipment will be installed. Aegir is scheduled to start work on its first installation project (Anadarko Lucius) in the Gulf of Mexico in the fourth quarter of 2013


Technic Wins Another Ichthys LNG Contract

Technip wins INPEX CORPORATION commissioning contract worth approximately €210 million, for the Ichthys LNG Project in the Browse Basin, Western Australia. An integrated team will work on all activities related to the preparation and execution of the offshore commissioning for the floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit and the central processing facility. Technip’s operating center in Perth, Australia will execute the contract starting immediately


Northern Offshore Contract in Azerbaijan

Northern Offshore, Ltd. (Oslo Bors: NOF.OL) announced that its subsidiary, Northern Offshore U.K. Ltd, was awarded a contract with Caspian Drilling Company Limited (CDC) for the provision of support services for drilling operations in the Caspian Sea. The contract runs to July 2011 and has an estimated value of approximately $21m, comprised of fees for technical and operational support in management of the Dada Gorgud semisubmersible drilling rig


Keppel FELS Adds US$300 Million in New Contracts

Keppel FELS Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine, has secured three contracts worth a combined US$300 million from repeat customers. The contracts are for the construction of a KFELS B Class jackup rig from Star Drilling Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based company promoted by the companies of D.P. Jindal Group; the upgrading of the semisubmersible ENSCO 5006 for Ensco PLC (Ensco); and the upgrading of the semisubmersible Ocean Patriot for Diamond Offshore.
