Jumbo Offshore Contract From Technip USA

Jumbo Offshore v.o.f has been awarded a combined transportation and installation contract by Technip USA in connection with the Cascade and Chinook fields in the Gulf of Mexico.  Jumbo will support Technip USA by providing expertise in heavy lift and transportation during the engineering, transportation and installation phases. The contract scope of work consists of: •    Collecting and transporting five buoyancy cans from Technip’s yard in Pori, Finland to the Cascade and Chinook field in the Gulf of Mexico located 160 miles south of the Louisiana Coast •    Jumbo’s heavy lift vessel Fairplayer will assist Technip’s deepwater pipelay construction vessel Deep Blue with the installation of five Buoyancy Cans and Free Standing Hybrid Risers (FSHRs). Jumbo and its client, Technip USA, have adopted an integrated engineering approach using both companies’ specialized personnel and skills in order to ensure well-prepared transport and heavy lift operations during the execution phase.  The Fairplayer is scheduled to mobilize in Europe the third quarter of 2009. Jumbo Offshore is a Netherlands based company that performs combined transportation and offshore installation work, primarily for the Oil and Gas industry. Jumbo’s Heavy Lift Crane Vessel Repaired

A three-week repair project on the Jumbo Javelin, a DP2 Heavy Lift Crane Vessel owned and operated by Jumbo, has been completed Damen Shiprepair Van Brink Rotterdam in the Netherlands.   The major aspect of the repair was the replacement of the frames of 15 box coolers. To minimize the time spent in dock, 12 of these were prefabricated prior to the Jumbo Javelin arriving at Van Brink, and the remaining three were built during the docking period


Open House Welcomes Puyallup

An open house was held on sleek Jumbo Mark II ferry Puyallup, to welcome it to its new home, the Edmonds/Kingston route. Later in the month, it was down to business as Puyallup began ferrying cars and passengers across the busy crossing. Jumbo Completes Transports for KNPC

Jumbo Shipping has completed its eight-month heavy lift transport contract for client KNPC (Kuwait National Petroleum Company). The contract involved the transport of 37 reactors, separators and coke drums for KNPC’s Clean Fuels Project expansion. Jumbo’s Total Transport Solution included shipping and barging operations, as well as land transport. Jumbo Shipping Successfully Transports Monopiles

Jumbo Shipping has successfully transported 51 monopiles from EEW's manufacturing plant in Rostock, Germany, to Barrow-in-Furness in the UK. The monopiles’ final destination was DONG Energy's Walney Offshore Windfarm 2. When the contract was awarded, the first shipment was only seven weeks away, during which time Jumbo engineered all shipments and designed and manufactured saddles for the monopiles. Damen Receives Jumbo Order

The CargoVessels Division of Damen Shipyards signed a $62.3 million contract with Dutch shipping company, Jumbo, for the building of two heavy lift ships, each measuring 469 ft. (143.1 m) with a beam of 87 ft. (26.5 m). Reportedly the largest and most advanced heavy lift ships in the world, they have a lifting capacity of 1,600 tons, and will be constructed at Damen's Romanian yard. Jumbo Shipping’s latest newbuild, HLV Jumbo Jubilee, completed its maiden voyage after successfully loading, transporting and installing two 1250 t shiploaders for FL Smidth in challenging circumstances.
