Van Oord Christens Second LNG-powered TSHD Vox Apolonia

Van Oord announced on Tuesday it has christened its new trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Vox Apolonia, built by Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd shipyard in Singapore.The newbuild is the second in a series of three new dual-fuel liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueled TSHDs being built for the Dutch dredging and marine services contractor.The 10,500-cubic-meter-capacity Vox Apolonia and its sister vessels Vox Ariane and Vox Alexia, fall into the mid-class section of Van Oord’s TSHD fleet. measuring 137.5 meters long and 27.6 meters across the beam.

Bumi Armada to Sell Three Ice-class Vessels to Lukoil for $44.5M

Malaysian FPSO specialist and offshore support vessel owner Bumi Armada has decided to sell its icebreaking vessels operating in the Caspian Sea for Lukoil, in line with its plan to exit the offshore marine service business.Bumi Armada said Wednesday that its board of directors had agreed to sell subsidiaries owning Ice-class vessels operating in the Caspian Sea for $44.5 million in cash. Antarctic Supply Ship Returns to Australia After Engine Room Fire

Antarctic resupply ship MPV Everest berthed in Fremantle, Australia at 5:30 p.m. local time Tuesday, after it suffered an engine room fire earlier this month, the Australian Antarctic Division said.Australia’s chartered Antarctic resupply vessel MPV Everest was about 1,700 nautical miles south of Perth when the April 5 fire engulfed the vessel's port engine room and destroyed two inflatable rubber boats on the deck. 'Small Fire' Aboard Antarctic Supply Ship

The Australian Antarctic Division said a small fire broke out on board a vessel used to resupply Australia’s Casey research station in Antarctica.The fire was discovered around 7 a.m. local time on January 29, in a battery room above the bridge of Bahamas-flagged MPV Everest while the vessel was transiting back to Hobart following an Antarctic resupply trip.The fire was quickly put out using handheld fire extinguishers, AAD said. Avenir Cancels Newbuild Order with Keppel

Bermuda registered Avenir LNG Limited announced that it has agreed with Keppel Singmarine to cancel the options to build its 3rd and 4th 7,500 cbm LNG carriers at Keppel Nantong.Avenir is scheduled to receive delivery of two 7,500 cbm LNGC’s, already on order, from Keppel Singmarine in December 2019 and March 2020.Avenir LNG Limited is a Bermuda registered company established for the purpose of developing the small scale global LNG market by sourcing, shipping, storing and distributing LNG to the end customer in areas of stranded demand.As reported two days ago, Avenir signed contracts with Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co. SOE Shipyard Bags Avenir LNG Newbuild Order

Bermuda registered Avenir LNG Limited has signed contracts with Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (SOE) for the construction of two 7,500 cbm LNG carriers, at its Nantong, China shipyard, with options to build two more.Delivery of the two LNGC new buildings is scheduled for May and August 2021. The ships are designed to include ice class 1B, full bunker functionality, double hull and dual fuel electric twin azimuth propulsion. The order for the 7,500 cbm LNG ships replaces the previous option to build two additional ships with Keppel Singmarine which was cancelled by mutual agreement. World First: Keppel Delivers EU Stage-V Dredger

Keppel Singmarine’s Nantong, China, shipyard has delivered the world’s first dredger to meet European Union Stage V emissions requirements for inland waterways vessels.The wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) said in a press release that has delivered the ultra low emission dredger on time, within budget and with a perfect safety record, strengthening its presence in the non-oil and gas segment.Built for Jan De Nul and named Afonso de Albuquerque, the ultra-low emission Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) is diesel-electrical powered and comes equipped with an efficient exhaust gas filter system. The resultant emission complies with the requirements of the EU Stage V standards, which set stricter limits on emissions.

Singapore Launches Autonomous Tug Project

Keppel Wins New Marine Contracts

Singaporean conglomerate  Keppel Offshore & Marine said that it has secured new marine contracts with a combined value of S$300 million (USD 220 mln) through its subsidiaries. According to a press release from the company, the first contract is by Keppel Singmarine with Shturman Koshelev LLC for the design and construction of an ice-class LNG bunker vessel. When completed in 4Q 2020, the vessel will be chartered to Gazpromneft Marine Bunker Ltd (Gazpromneft) for operations in the Baltic Sea. Keppel O&M Bags Stolt-Nielsen Order for Two More LNG Carriers

Keppel Singmarine has signed two additional contracts with Stolt-Nielsen Gas B.V. Stolt-Nielsen Limited (Oslo Børs: SNI), Golar LNG Ltd and Höegh LNG Holdings Ltd. announced a combined investment commitment of $182 million in Avenir LNG Ltd. to pursue opportunities to deliver LNG to areas of stranded demand, as well as the development of LNG bunkering capabilities.The investment will be contributed as cash and equity-in-kind and will fund the construction of six small-scale LNG carriers, a small-scale storage terminal and regasification facilities.Avenir LNG was formed by Stolt-Nielsen in 2017 to provide LNG to markets lacking access to natural gas pipelines.

Keppel Partners GTT on LNG Solutions

Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) has signed a Technical Assistance and License Agreement (TALA) with Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) that will enable the companies to jointly market liquefied natural gas (LNG) solutions leveraging GTT's membrane containment systems and Keppel's shipyard expertise.Keppel O&M's network of global yards will be able to offer GTT's LNG systems in the design, construction and maintenance of LNG carriers, LNG Bunker vessels, LNG-fuelled vessels, and floating storage and regasification units (FSRU).Since completing its first LNG carrier repair in 1990, Keppel O&M has developed a wealth of experience in cryogenics, and developed a suite of solutions across the LNG value chain.

ABS to Class Singapore's First LNG Bunker Barge

Singapore’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker barge scheduled to begin construction in January 2019. The 7,500 cubic meter capacity barge will be owned and operated by a joint venture between Shell and Keppel Offshore & Marine, FueLNG Pte Ltd, who selected ABS to class the vessel.To help spur the project, Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) recently granted up to $3 million to FueLNG Pte Ltd to build the barge. The vessel will be based in the Port of Singapore and will supply LNG fuel to large oceangoing vessels throughout the region.“This project is an important milestone for the region and is a key component of Singapore’s strategy to become the world’s largest bunkering port,” said ABS Vice President Global Gas Solutions, Patrick Janssens.

Dual-fuel Tug Delivered to Keppel Smit Towage Singapore

Keppel Offshore & Marine’s shipbuilding arm Keppel Singmarine has delivered its second dual-fuel tug capable of running on liquefied natural gas (LNG). The new vessel, named named Maju Loyalty, was built for Maju Maritime (which is merged operationally with Keppel Smit Towage).Abu Bakar, managing director, gas and specialized vessels, of Keppel O&M, said, "Leveraging our newbuild experience and capabilities in LNG, we were able to ensure the smooth execution and timely delivery of this project. Jan De Nul’s Green Hopper Dredger Launched in China

The 3,500 m³ trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Diogo Cão was launched last Saturday at the Keppel Nantong shipyard in China, a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine. Keppel to Build South East Asia’s First LNG Bunkering Vessel

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd, has secured a contract from FueLNG, a joint venture between Keppel O&M and Shell Eastern Petroleum (Pte) Ltd, to build South East Asia's first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering vessel valued at approximately S$50 million. Scheduled for completion in 3Q 2020, the dual-fuel LNG bunkering vessel will have a capacity of 7,500 cubic metres. FueLNG will receive a grant of up to S$3 million as part of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore's (MPA) LNG Bunkering Pilot Programme (LBPP). Shipbuilding: Keppel Bags Order for Van Oord Dredgers

Keppel Singmarine Pte won contracts from Van Oord to build two Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (with an option for a third), the shipbuilder announced, scheduled for completion in 4Q 2020 and 2Q 2021 respectively. Built to the standards of Bureau Veritas, Each TSHDs will have a hopper capacity of 10,500 cubic meters, and more importantly for environmental concerts, both will be equipped with dual-fuel systems capable of running on LNG. "We are pleased to work with Keppel on these modern and environmentally-friendly dredgers which will strengthen our mid-class dredger fleet as well as our presence in the region. Keppel to Deliver SE Asia's First LNG-powered Tug

Singapore-based Keppel Corp said on Wednesday its offshore rig-building unit is on track to deliver in May what the shipbuilder said will be the first tugboat in southeast Asia that can run on liquefied natural gas (LNG). The vessel will be one of seven dual-fuel vessels the company is building, and will be able to run on LNG and diesel, a spokesman for Keppel said, without disclosing how much the ship cost to build. A second dual-fuel LNG tug is due to be delivered by June or July, he said. The introduction of the vessels comes as Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority pushes ahead with an LNG bunkering pilot programme, designed to support the building of LNG-fuelled vessels.

Subsea Construction Vessel Launched in Azerbaijan

The vessel was named Khankendi by the President of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev, at a ceremony in Baku Shipyard and launched by the Shah Deniz consortium. Baku Shipyard LLC, a joint venture between Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC), has completed a Subsea Construction Vessel (SCV) for the Caspian region. The Khankendi will be deployed to the Shah Deniz field where it is expected to perform subsea installation and construction work over the next eleven years.

Keppel to Build Additional Dredgers for Jan De Nul

Keppel Offshore & Marine's (Keppel O&M) wholly-owned subsidiary Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine) has secured contracts from Codralux S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jan De Nul Group, to build two Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHDs). The dredgers are valued at approximately $120 million, including owner-furnished equipment. Keppel Singmarine is currently building three dredgers for Jan De Nul Group, based on contracts that were secured in July 2016. The first of the two dredgers for this new order is expected to be completed in 2H 2019. Construction of the second dredger will require Codralux S.A to exercise the option within six months from now.
