The 40’ x 13’ research vessel Nanuq recently entered service for the University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. In a competitive solicitation process last year, the University selected Armstrong Marine’s proposal to design and build the vessel.Nanuq is customized for research and teaching operations. UK yacht equipment specialist Lewmar to sponsor the 2012 Lewmar Hamble One Design Championships, the UK's premier winter sailing event. This sponsorship represents a furthering of Lewmar's commitment to UK competitive sailing, having been a long term supporter of the Hamble Winter Series as a day sponsor. NAIAD Inflatables Delivers 10 Meter Pilot Boat

Naiad has just delivered a new 10.0 Meter Pilot Vessel, the DALTON PURSUIT, to its owner in Newfoundland, Canada. In addition to pilot work, the DALTON PURSUIT will provide commercial transport service for crew and small supplies to commercial ships moored off her home port. DALTON PURSUIT is based on Naiad's wide beam 10.0 meter platform, originally developed by Naiad for use by the US Department of Justice in anti-smuggling, anti-terrorism, and law enforcement operations. The wide beam 10.0 meter platform allows for more interior space in the cabin and on deck.

In the early evening hours twenty years ago in a shipyard in Brisbane, Australia the sleek hull of the 192 foot motor sailing yacht The Other Woman effortlessly slid down the launch ways into the Brisbane River. The Owner, Ed Cantor, told his guests as he watched his "Other Woman" hit the water "she looks so beautiful without the masts, do we really have to put them on?”. The evening and festivities went on with the question looming, was Ed Cantor serious? That question is now at rest. The 192 foot motor yacht Islander has emerged out of that statement, twenty years later.

Skipperliner Builds Second 124-ft. Motoryacht

SkipperLiner announced that Lady Romantica, a 124 x 25.5-ft. motoryacht, is under construction at the La Crosse, Wis., shipyard for Pintail Point Yacht Charters of Baltimore, Md. The 149-passenger vessel is destined for Baltimore's Inner Harbor and will offer dinner cruises, weddings, and private event charters. The eight month project began in May of this year. Lady Romantica will be the second 124-ft. motor yacht built by SkipperLiner this year. She is a sister vessel to Romantica III, which delivered to New York City in May. Lady Romantica joins two other SkipperLiner's in the Pintail fleet - the 91-ft. Lady Pintail and the 78-ft. Pintail Princess, both 149-passenger vessels. The interior features hand crafted cherry wood, custom granite counter tops, and fine leather furniture.
