Metal Shark Delivers Anti-Piracy Boat

38 Defiant Delivered to Atlanic Methanol for Security and Patrol. Metal Shark Boats has completed delivery of a security, patrol, and anti-piracy vessel for Atlantic Methanol Production Company's operations in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. The boat is a derivative of Metal Shark's 38 Defiant, a platform already in use as a U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, law enforcement, and commercial vessel. "Metal Shark's capabilities extend far beyond the traditional patrol vessel, and the extensive customization of this boat underscores our capability to build our platforms to meet any security or government need," said Dean Jones, National Sales Manager, Metal Shark Boats. Versatility Redefined   Powered by twin 380-horsepower (hp) Yanmar diesel engines and maneuvered with Konrad 520 outdrives, Atlantic Methanol's Defiant intercepts would-be threats at top speeds of 35-plus knots. The craft's extensive electronics array includes a FLIR Voyager gyro-stabilized infrared camera, dual Furuno NavNet 3D radar screens with camera-recording integration, departmental programmable radio, and a full engine diagnostics gauge package. A co-pilot's full set of throttle and shift controls provides unrivaled control of the vessel, while the extended cabin features shock mitigating seats, anti-fatigue flooring, acoustic noise-attenuating material, and sliding side-access doors with overhead spotter windows


Metal Shark Awarded $192M Coast Guard Contract

Louisiana Manufacturer will Replace Coast Guard's Small Response Boat Fleet.      Metal Shark Boats has been awarded a contract to replace the U.S. Coast Guard's fleet of Response Boat - Small (RB-S) vessels. Up to 470 boats will be delivered across the Coast Guard fleet, with an additional 20 boats will be available to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, with another ten slated for purchase by the U.S. Navy

Metal Shark Delivers First Response Boat to Coast Guard

Metal Shark Boats this week delivered the first new Response Boat-Small (RB-S) II to the U.S. Coast Guard's Special Missions Training Center at Camp LeJune, North Carolina.   Designed to gradually replace the Defender-class RB-S as it reaches the end of its service life, the vessel is the first of 38 boats scheduled for delivery to the Coast Guard by April 2013.   RB-S II's flexibility as a multi-function platform makes it ideal for use across the Coast Guard's full mission


Navy Issue Hi-speed Range Boat Contracts

US Department of Defense has issued the following Navy contracts for construction of high speed maneuverable surface targets (HSMSTs). The contracts are awarded to Silver Ships Inc., Theodore, Ala. and Gravois Aluminum Boats LLC, doing business as Metal Shark Aluminum Boats LLC, Jeanerette, La., who are each being awarded separate firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contracts for the construction of high speed maneuverable surface targets (HSMSTs). 


Metal Trades Second Fuel Barge for U.S. Navy

Metal Trades, Inc. announced the completion of YON 331, the second vessel of a new class of 14,000 barrel double hull fuel barges for the U.S. Navy.  The 200-ft x 52-ft barge was designed by Bristol Harbor Group of Bristol, R.I. to carry either Diesel or JP5 Jet Fuel in five cargo tanks. Metal Trades was contracted by Maybank Industries, located in Charleston, S.C..  The barge will be delivered to the Naval Supply Systems Command Fuel Depot facility in Norfolk, Va

Thirty-seven countries, including US & Mexico propose to list ten shark & ray species under international wildlife treaty. At least 37 countries, including the United States and Mexico, have proposed protections for ten shark and ray species under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). MacGregor's AHTs Equipment Package for Wuhu Xinlian
