ABS Wavesight and Procureship Partner to Optimize Marine Procurement

Singapore Firms Select ABS Systems

Singapore-based offshore marine services provider PACC Offshore Services Holdings Ltd (POSH) and the maritime logistics solutions provider Pacific Carriers Limited (PCL) have selected ABS Nautical Systems  (NS) fleet management software to support their digitalization strategy.Both PCL and POSH are part of Kuok Singapore Limited (KSL) Maritime Group of companies, with competencies extending across offshore marine services, commercial shipping and marine engineering. Both POSH and PCL operate a combined fleet of 245 vessels including tankers, bulkers as well as offshore support vessels.The deal is for multiple NS modules to support the digitalization of workflows including fleet maintenance, purchasing and compliance.

ABS Rolls Out New Fleet Management Software

Cooper Group Selects ABS for Sub M Services

ABS said it has been awarded a Third Party Organization (TPO) contract by the Cooper Group of Companies to support compliance with U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Subchapter M requirements. “ABS anticipated the needs that would surface when the Subchapter M regulations were published and allocated resources to develop a range of solutions,” said ABS Americas Division President, Jamie Smith. ABS Nautical Systems Simplifies MRV Compliance

ABS has launched ABS Nautical Systems NS Voyage Manager to simplify compliance reporting. The cloud-based, subscription application facilitates compliance with a range of environmental regulations, including the European Union (EU) Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) regulation for CO 2 emissions. “With EU MRV already in effect and additional regulations on the horizon, such as the International Maritime Organization’s Data Collection System requirement, operators need an easy way to manage the increasing volume of data required for reporting,” says ABS Chief Technology Officer and ABS Nautical Systems President Howard Fireman.

NS Workboat, a new mobile application from ABS Nautical Systems (NS) purpose-built for the workboat/inland sector, aims to streamline onboard tasks for Subchapter M compliance. “This app answers the growing demand for easy-to-use point solutions – a need that is particularly pronounced in the workboat sector, where many companies have little to no IT support on their boats,” said ABS Nautical Systems Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Stephen Schwarz. ABS Wins Great Lakes Towing SubM Contract

ABS said it has been awarded a Third Party Organization (TPO) contract by The Great Lakes Towing Company (GLT) to support compliance with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Subchapter M regulations. “Every organization operating towing vessels in U.S. inland waterways will have to comply with Subchapter M,” said ABS Americas Division President Jamie Smith. The recently signed contract with GLT, which is a member of the American Waterways Operators (AWO), establishes ABS as the company’s TPO, providing surveys for its fleet and audits of its Responsible Carrier Program (RCP).

ABS Takes the Lead as First Class Society to Earn EU MRV Accreditation

ABS, a leading provider of classification and technical services to the marine and offshore industries, was awarded accreditation by Greece’s National Accreditation Body, the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD), to perform assessments for European Union (EU) Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) compliance. “We are proud to be the first class society accredited to perform EU MRV assessments,” says ABS Chairman, President and CEO Christopher J. Wiernicki. In recent years, greenhouse gas emissions from shipping have come under increased scrutiny at the International Maritime Organization and on regional levels, leading to new emissions requirements. Among these is the EU MRV regulation, EU Regulation 2015/757, for ships traveling to, from and between EU ports.
