Spill Control Association Names New Directors

The Spill Control Association of America (SCAA), a professional association representing oil spill removal organizations (OSRO), spill managers, qualified individuals, consultants, equipment and material manufacturers, distributors, insurers, and educational and governmental organizations, announced the appointment of three new SCAA Directors and the renewal of a fourth Director for another two-year term.  The appointments were announced at the Annual Meeting on March 8 in Alexandria, Va.  The new Directors are Harry Bedrossian, SPC Brady; Michael Gallagher, CI Agent Solutions; and Devon Grennan, Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. The Board of Directors extended John Parker, a sitting Director and a past SCAA President, an additional two-year term.  “We congratulate our new directors and Mr. Parker, and we wish to recognize the efforts of outgoing directors Bob May, HEPACO, Inc.; Mark Miller, Miller Environmental Group; and Jim Weber, SWS Environmental Services, for their involvement and contributions to SCAA’s mission and objectives over the past four years,” said Andrew Altendorf, President.  “These companies were SCAA Charter Members, and remain Platinum Sponsors, so we thank them for their strong support.”  


Galbraith’s Names New Director

Galbraith's Ltd has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of Terry Parmenter, a highly experienced and well-known dry cargo chartering broker who joined Galbraith's seven years ago from SSY, where he was a senior director. ACL Establishes National Sales Force

American Commercial Lines Inc. announced it has established a national sales force in key geographic locations. Port Canaveral Adds New Director of Planning Position

Melbourne resident Wade Morefield has been hired as the Port’s first Director of Planning, a position created to transition departmental-level planning efforts into a comprehensive organizational-wide function. The former Director of Planning for the city of Anniston, Alabama, Morefield most recently worked as a planner for the city of Melbourne. The Glosten Associates Appoint New Director of Engineering

The Glosten Associates has named John Edgar to serve as the firm’s Director of Engineering. In this role, he is responsible for establishing and maintaining the firm’s ‘best practices’ engineering processes. Edgar, a senior naval architect and firm principal, is a 1987 graduate of Webb Institute of Naval Architecture. Westerholm to Head NOAA Office

Dave Westerholm, former chief of the U.S. Coast Guard's Office of Response, has been named the new director of the NOAA Office of Response and Restoration, responsible for overseeing NOAA's efforts to prepare for and respond to environmental hazards caused by marine debris and the release of oil and chemicals into the nation's ocean and coastal waters. Mystic Seaport has named Sarah Cahill its new director of museum education and outreach.  She will begin June 7. Cahill will lead the Museum’s education department in the expansion of its public history educational programs. Harris Assumes New Leadership Role with Titan

Veteran Salvage Master Shelby Harris has been named Titan Salvage’s new director of marine operations in Asia, where he will bring more than 15 years of experience responding to large-scale domestic and international salvage and wreck removal projects. He will be based out of the company’s Singapore office and equipment depot, a 45,000-square-foot site west of the city, and report to Titan’s Director of Operations Patrick Keenan.
