BP to Charter New Product Tanker from U.S. Shipping Partners

U.S. Shipping Partners L.P announced that it has entered into a long-term charter agreement with BP for a new double-hulled product tanker being built for U.S. Shipping Partners' tanker joint venture by General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego. This vessel is due for delivery in early 2009 and will be employed by BP in the U.S. domestic coastwise trade. The ship is the first in U.S. Shipping's new series of nine vessels.


Toyen Appointed President of Seaworthy Systems

Martin Toyen, formerly chief operating officer, has been promoted to president of Seaworthy Systems. Toyen, who has been with Seaworthy Systems since February 1979, will assume the day-to-day operation of the company and its subsidiary corporations. GE Shipping takes New Product Tanker

Great Eastern Shipping Company (GE Shipping) has taken delivery of its new building MR product tanker Jag Payal. The 37,159 DWT product tanker built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co, South Korea has Ice Class 1 A notation. With the induction of Jag Payal, the company’s fleet of 44 vessels comprises 33 tankers (14 crude oil carriers, 17 product carriers, and 2 LPG carriers) and 11 drybulk carriers (1 capesize, 2 panamax, 5 handymax and 3 handysize) with an average age of 12.7 years aggregating 3


ExxonMobil Launches Bunker Quality Guarantee

ExxonMobil Marine Fuels (EMMF) has introduced a product quality guarantee covering all bunkers supplied direct to clients. It will be marked by a new product quality guarantee logo on EMMF delivery documentation. Red Spider Secures Offshore Order

Red Spider, the Remote Open Close Technology specialist, has completed its biggest-ever deal with work valued at £1.5million to supply new products for well completion operations. The agreement involves Red Spider supplying eRED-FB products with deployment scheduled for this summer in the UK North Sea. The eRED-FBs will be used for a series of subsea dual ESP (Electric Submersible Pump) wells and will allow the removal of all wireline runs from the completions operations.
