ABS Will Class Egyptian Navy Fast Missile Patrol Craft

ABS has been selected as the classification society for the four Ambassador MK III Fast Missile Patrol Craft being built for the Egyptian Navy at Halter Marine Inc., a subsidiary of Friede Goldman Halter. The vessels are a continuation of the Egyptian Navy's Ambassador Class Patrol Craft fleet. The Ambassador MK III is a state-of-the-art Patrol Craft designed for the 21st century. The vessel will be 199 ft. and will feature a state-of-the-art diesel propulsion system. These vessels are equipped with the latest in technology and defense capability in this vessel class. Lockheed Martin has been subcontracted to provide combat system design and integration.

Trinity Yachts Delivers First of Two Patrol Craft


Trinity Yachts, L.L.C., through its wholly owned subsidiary, Trinity Offshore, L.L.C., has delivered the first of two aluminum 82 ft. patrol craft it is building in New Orleans under a sub-contract to United States Marine, Inc., (U.S.M.I.) of Gulfport. USS Bataan Rescues 282 in Mediterranean Sea

USS Bataan and USS Elrod (FFG 55) saved the passengers from their sinking small vessel.  USS Bataan provided food, water, medical attention and temporary shelter before tranferring 277 to the Armed Forces of Malta patrol craft P61, and the remainder to hospital in Malta. Elrod and Bataan received a report from an Italian military marine patrol aircraft that sighted six small vessels, one of which was sinking, at approximately 3 p.m., June 6, 2014.
