TotalEnergies Awards New Contracts to Siem PSV Pair in Brazil

Norwegian shipowner Siem Offshore has secured new contracts with TotalEnergies for two of its platform supply vessels (PSV) for work offshore Brazil.The contracts are for Siem Giant and Siem Atlas PSVs.The new duration for Siem Giant is three years firm with options up to four more years.For Siem Atlas, the new duration is nine months firm with options until the end of the second quarter in 2027.Both vessels will start the contracts in June 2024 in direct continuation of present contracts…

Vard to Convert IT Infinity PSV to Cable Laying Vessel

Norwegian ship designed and builder Vard has secured a contract from I.T. International Telecom Marine (IT) to convert its platform supply vessel (PSV) IT Infinity into a cable laying vessel (CLV).The PSV was built at Vard Brattvaag and delivered to Volstad Maritime in 2008 under the name Volstad Princess.SD Standard Drilling acquired the vessel in 2017 before it was sold to IT in 2021 and was renamed IT Infinity.The work will be carried out by Vard Brattvaag in Norway and the vessel will be delivered in the third quarter of 2024…

Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF Group has secured ‘substantial contract’ with an international oil company for the platform supply vessel (PSV) Skandi Kvitsøy.The vessel will work in Australian waters and further strengthen DOF’s presence in Australia.DOF Group defines a ‘substantial contract’ as the one with value between $23 million and $48 million (NOK 250 million to NOK 500 million).The contract is set to start in the first quarter of 2024, with two-year firm and two years options…

Solstad Offshore to Exit Platform Supply Vessel Business. Agrees to Sell 37 Vessels to Tidewater

Norwegian offshore support vessel owner Solstad Offshore has agreed to sell 37 platform supply vessels to the U.S. firm Tidewater for $577 million.The sale will mark Solstad Offshore's exit from the platform supply vessel sector. Ongoing PSV charter parties will be transferred to Tidewater. Solstad will offer management services to Tidewater in a transition period to facilitate a smooth transfer for the parties and the customers.The offshore employees associated with the PSV Fleet will be offered employment with Tidewater.

Norwegian offshore vessel builder Havyard will outsource the construction of the Atlantic Harrier platform supply vessel to its compatriot yard Kleven, as delays with other projects have put a strain on Havyard’s Leirvik facility.The platform supplier was first ordered by Fafnir Offshore in 2014, but Havyard in 2017 canceled the order as Fafnir was unable to secure a long-term charter or financing agreement.Havyard then last year won a contract to deliver the PSV to Canadian-based Atlantic Towing…
