Wärtsilä Wins Total Solution Order for LNG Vessel

Wärtsilä, the marine industry's leading solutions provider, has been contracted by Kleven Maritime of Norway to design a new LNG powered Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) of the Norwegian operator Rem Offshore. The scope of the order also includes the propulsion machinery, automation and other equipment for the same vessel.   Wärtsilä is the clear market leader in supplying design and propulsion solutions for LNG powered PSVs, a position that is further strengthened with this order. Harvey Gulf Inks Deal With Trinity Offshore

In a contract worth $110 million, Trinity to build two dual fuel LNG-powered PSV’s for Harvey Gulf. Wartsila to supply integrated system that includes the dual-fuel machinery.   7 October 2011: Harvey Gulf International Marine has signed a deal with Trinity Offshore which will eventually produce the first two dual fuel LNG-powered offshore  vessels under U.S. flag. Kleven Maritime to Build LNG-powered PSV for Remøy Shipping

Kleven Maritime contracted by Remøy Shipping for the delivery of a LNG-powered platform supply vessel (PSV) The vessel is to be built at Kleven Maritime’s shipyard Kleven Verft. Total contract value for Kleven is around 400 million NOK. In addition, the contract also includes an option for a further vessel of the same type. The newbuild is of the VS 4412 DF PSV type from Wärtsila Ship Design Norway.

GPA Enters Petrobras Tender

Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA), a U.S. Naval Architecture and Marine, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Firm headquartered in Seattle, WA, is currently participating in the ongoing Petrobras tender.  GPA entered the tender with three designs based on constructability to facilitate the rapid building of large numbers of vessels at comparably low capital costs and meeting all of Petrobras’ requirements. 

Wärtsilä New LNG Powered PSV Order

Wärtsilä has received an order for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs). Norwegian operator Eidesvik Offshore has placed an order for its fifth gas PSV. All Eidesvik's gas PSVs, including this latest order, are designed by Wärtsilä and utilize Wärtsilä's unique dual-fuel technology. Rigdon Delivers Grand Slam

Rigdon Marine Corporation (RMC), announced that Grand Slam, the fourth in the series of ten 4000 Class PSV was delivered by Bollinger Shipyards in Lockport, Louisiana. Mrs. Karen Whitley, wife of RMC’s Director of Technical Services, Jim Whitley, christened the hull of the vessel with the traditional bottle of champagne the day before the Rigdon 4000 Class PSVs was named a ‘Significant Boat of 2007’ at the WorkBoat Trade Show in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Offshore Vessel Charters for Farstad

Farstad Shipping ASA has been awarded charter contracts with a value of about US$ 58-million. The contracts awarded to Farstad are as follows: Statoil has awarded contracts to PSV Far Spica (2013, PSV 08 CD, 4,000 DWT) and PSV Far Scotsman (2012, PSV 08 CD, 4,000 DWT) to support the Statoil drilling campaign on the coast of East Africa. Commencement is expected to take place in April 2013. The duration of the contracts will be approx. 9 months, with a further 9 month option

Vietnam Shipyard Delivers Farstad PSV

Vung Tau Shipyard in Vietnam delivers Platform Support Vessel (PSV) to Farstad Shipping Singapore subsidiary. Far Sitella, a STX PSV08 CD offshore vessel, is bound for Australia where it will commence its long term commitment to Shell Australia related to their Prelude drilling campaign. A long-term facility has been drawn with Nordea Bank to finance the vessel. Farstad Shipping's fleet currently consists of 57 vessels (28 AHTS, 26 PSV and 3 SUBSEA) and 3 PSV and 4 AHTS under construction

Guido Perla & Associates said that the fifth in the GPA 654 PSV 10 series owned by Rigdon Marine was christened at Bollinger Shipyard in Lockport, Louisiana on January 3, 2008.
