Danos Appoints 3 to Sr. Positions

Danos announces the hiring of Marc Distefano, John Danos and Jack Roszelle to leadership positions with the company. “We welcome Marc, John and Jack to the Danos team,” said CEO and President Hank Danos. John Danos (no relation) serves as construction division general manager, working to develop a best practices foundation for the way Danos executes projects in conjunction with the company’s project management group. Prior to joining Danos, he held leadership positions at J. Ray McDermott, International Offshore Services, International Construction Group and Harvey Gulf International Marine. As fabrication operations manager of the Amelia facility, Marc Distefano is responsible for overall leadership of the facility and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.

Delaware's Vessel Management Services, Inc. has sold their twin-screw tug “Sinuk” to King River LLC of Palmer, Alaska. The 85.8’ x 28.5’ x 10.0’ depth, model bow tug was built in 1995 by J. Ray McDermott Shipyard in Morgan City, Louisiana. Chambers Added as Diving Technical Adviser for IMCA

An expanding work program has seen the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) appointed Kris Chambers to the secretariat team as a Diving Technical Adviser to work alongside fellow Adviser, Paul Evans and with Technical Director, Jane Bugler. “Kris has been actively involved in the commercial diving industry , working in Australia, the Asia-Pacific region, Gulf of Mexico and Mexico itself, West Africa and the Middle East,” explained IMCA’s Chief Executive, Hugh Williams. Kris Chambers’ working life began in 1985 the Royal Australian Air Force as a Maintenance Engineer (Airframe), he then moved to the Australian regular Army (RAEME) where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and was a helicopter flight engineer.

Houston-based J. Ray McDermott (J. Ray), a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc., announced the award of a contract by PEMEX Exploración y Producción for completion engineering, procurement, construction, load-out and sea fastening of the Kuil-A wellhead platform. The platform is located in the Kuil field in the Bay of Campeche, within the PEMEX Southwest Marine Region. “This new construction contract with PEMEX reinforces J. Ray's strength in the conventional shallow water platform sector of the offshore oil and gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico," said Steve Johnson, J. J. Ray McDermott on the Gorgon Project

J. Ray McDermott, S.A. (J. Ray) announced that its subsidiary P.T. McDermott Indonesia (PTMI) has been awarded a contract by the Kellogg Joint Venture-Gorgon on behalf of Chevron Australia Pty. Ltd, operator of the Gorgon Project. The estimated value of the contract if the work is completed per contract terms is in excess of $150m. More than 60 pre-assembled racks and units with an estimated combined weight of approximately 25,000 tonnes will be constructed at J. Ray’s Batam Island fabrication facility in Indonesia. J. Ray will provide services for project management, fabrication engineering, procurement and material management, construction, commissioning assistance, quarantine compliance, loadout and seafastening.

Rolls-Royce for Offshore Vessel Upgrade

Rolls-Royce has received an order worth over $20m to supply diesel generator sets and thrusters to Houston-based offshore engineering and construction company J. Ray McDermott. The order, which includes six underwater mountable azimuth thrusters and four Bergen generator sets, is being supplied as part of a major upgrade to the customer’s specialist offshore vessel, Derrick Barge 50 (DB50). The heavy-lift derrick and pipe laying vessel is based in the Gulf of Mexico. The six thrusters are each capable of providing 44 tonnes of thrust and have a variable frequency electric motor drive and a fixed pitch propeller. J. Ray, Keppel FELS Joint Venture

J. Ray McDermott will undertake fabrication and installation work for the P-61 Tension Leg Wellhead Platform (TLWP) in more than 3,871 feet of water, for the Papa Terra Joint Venture, consisting of Petrobras (operator) and Chevron. The overall P-61 project — comprising design, engineering, construction, transportation, installation, and a three-year limited operations contract — was awarded to FloaTEC Singapore Pte Ltd (FloaTEC Singapore), a joint venture between Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS) and J. Ray. Almost all the work will be carried out through the combined resources of Keppel FELS, J. Ray and FloaTEC LLC (FloaTEC), the US-based joint venture company that will perform global engineering and basic design work.

J. Ray McDermott, S.A. (J. Ray) announced the appointment of Stephen M. Johnson as President and Chief Executive Officer of J. Ray, effective January 1, 2010. Johnson is the current President and Chief Operating Officer of McDermott International, Inc. (McDermott), J. Ray’s parent company. He succeeds Robert A. Deason, who, as previously announced, will retire at the end of the year. Separately, McDermott announced that it plans to separate its operating subsidiaries, The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) and J. Ray, into two independent, publicly traded companies.

J. Ray McDermott’s Caspian subsidiary has completed installation of offshore facilities at the Yuri Korchagin field for OOO LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft (LUKOIL), a subsidiary of OAO LUKOIL Oil Company. The Yuri Korchagin field is the first of the North Caspian fields in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea to be developed by LUKOIL and brought commercially on-stream. The field development requires a number of major offshore facilities including an ice-resistant fixed processing platform (LSP-1) and adjacent living quarters (LSP-2) joined together by a 243-foot bridge.

J. Ray Awarded Guntong B Contract in Malaysia

J. Ray McDermott, S.A. announced that its Malaysian affiliate Barmada McDermott Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded a transportation and installation contract by ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. for the replacement of a 12-inch full well stream pipeline between Guntong-B and Guntong-A platforms, off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The scope of work also includes transportation and installation of a new flare boom to replace an existing flare boom at the Guntong-A platform. J. Ray Completes PEMEX Maloob-C

Houston-based J. Ray McDermott recently bid farewell to the Maloob-C drilling platform, built under a contract for PEMEX Exploración y Producción, Northeast Marine Region. The project is located in the Ku-Maloob-Zaap field in the Bay of Campeche, Mexico, in 264 feet of water. “This was the first project for our fabrication facility at Altamira, Mexico,” said John Nesser, J. Ray’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Work on the drilling platform began in February 2008. Fabrication of the two-level, 2,535-ton deck and the 3,527-ton jacket, factory testing, onshore pre-commissioning and operational testing, load out and sea fastening were all performed by J. Ray at Altamira. Additionally, more than 3,300 tons of piles were fabricated at J.

J. Ray Upgrades Barge for Deepwater

Houston-based J. Ray McDermott, a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc., is upgrading its primary Gulf of Mexico derrick/pipelay barge, DB50, for future deepwater projects, by adding new thrusters and increasing its electrical power supply. The DB50 will have its entire power plant replaced with new diesel-engine generator sets totaling 19.2 megawatts, new switchboards and a state-of-the-art power management/alarm system. Also, the existing four 2.4 megawatt controlled pitch thrusters will be replaced with six new 2.4 megawatt fixed pitch / variable AC drive thrusters, which will provide 44 tons of thrust each. In addition, the freshwater and saltwater cooling system and the supply/exhaust ventilation system will be upgraded in both engine and thruster machinery spaces.

J. Ray Wins More Work in Saudi Arabia

J. Ray McDermott, S.A., a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc., announced that it was recently awarded additional work under the Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with Saudi Aramco. This latest project, which is expected to continue through 2010, consists of the procurement, fabrication and installation of three decks, jackets, associated pipelines, and the installation of three new shallow water crude oil pipelines, totaling 15 kilometers in length, in the South Safaniya oil field, offshore Saudi Arabia. The pipelines will divert crude oil production flow from three existing platforms to other facilities before reaching the Safaniya onshore Gas Oil Separator Plant.

J. Ray McDermott Awarded Pemex Contract

Houston-based J. Ray McDermott, a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc., announced the award of a contract by Pemex Exploración y Producción for transportation and installation of the Ixtal-B and Maloob-C drilling platforms. These projects are located in the Bay of Campeche, Mexico, in 216 and 272 feet of water, respectively. Contracts of this nature are typically valued at more than $40m. “This is the first installation contract Pemex has awarded directly to J. Ray and follows on the heels of our contract for the Maloob-C platform construction in December 2007,” said John Nesser, J. Ray’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. The Ixtal-B drilling platform comprises a 1,984-ton, four-leg jacket with 2,205 tons of piles, and a 2,205-ton topside.

J. Ray Awarded Malaysia Pipeline Contract

J. Ray McDermott, S.A. announced that its Malaysian affiliate Barmada McDermott Sdn. Bhd. (BMD) has won a fast track transportation and installation contract from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. for the 2.4km, 12 inch full well stream (FWS) replacement pipeline between Guntong-C and Guntong-A, off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The existing Guntong-C riser and a section of the existing pipeline will be replaced with a 2.4km pipeline riser with tie-in to the existing 12 inch pipeline. A mechanical connector will be used to connect the new pipeline to the remaining section of the existing pipeline. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2008. J. Hand-over of Su Tu Vang CPP

A. announced the handover of the Su Tu Vang Central Processing Platform for CuuLong Joint Operating Company (CLJOC) offshore Vietnam to enable production of first oil ahead of schedule. McDermott in JV with China Shipbuilding

McDermott International Inc said that a subsidiary of group company J Ray McDermott has set up a joint venture with a unit of state-owned China Shipbuilding Industry Corp. The joint venture - Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan Offshore Engineering Co Ltd - plans to establish a facility in Qingdao, in eastern China's Shandong province. The new company plans to focus on the construction of floating production, storage and off-loading (FPSO) vessels, US-listed McDermott said in a statement.FPSOs are used in the offshore oil and gas industry. J. Ray McDermott, S. A. (J. Ray) announced that its subsidiary J. Ray McDermott Far East Inc., has received a Letter of Award for engineering, procurement and construction of 6,500 tonnes of topside modules for the Peregrino FPSO (floating, production, storage and offloading) by A.P. Moller – Maersk A/S (Maersk Contractors). Projects of this nature are typically valued in excess of US$250 million. Engineering and procurement activity have commenced while the fabrication scope is expected to begin in the third quarter 2008. Construction of the 6,500 tonnes of topside modules will commence in the third quarter 2008 at J. Ray’s facility in . Up to 1,200 Indonesian craftsmen are expected to be employed on this project at J. Ray’s Batam fabrication facility.

J. Ray McDermott Wins Chevron Platong Gas II Project

J. Ray McDermott S. A. said that subsidiaries of the company were recently awarded an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract by Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production for the Platong Gas II Project in the . The contract encompasses the full EPCI scope associated with the project’s central processing platform, representing a float-over deck weight of approximately 19,000 tons. Additional work in the contract includes J. Ray providing EPCI services for the associated living-quarters platform, flare tripod and three bridges.  Engineering work has commenced at J. Ray’s office and installation is expected in the by the end of 2010.
