Double Hull Tankers Files Registration Statement with SEC

Double Hull Tankers, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. announced that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering of its common stock. Double Hull Tankers, Inc. is a newly formed Marshall Islands corporation which intends to acquire a fleet of seven oil tankers, consisting of three VLCCs and four Aframaxes, from subsidiaries of OSG and to time charter them back to other subsidiaries of OSG. UBS Investment Bank and Merrill Lynch & Co. are serving as joint book-running managers of the offering.


Norwegian Cruise Line Parent to Go Public

According to a report from the Associated Press, the parent company of Norwegian Cruise Line, said on Oct. 26 it filed a registration statement for an initial public offering with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. NCL, which operates 11 cruise ships, did not disclose a share price or proposed stock symbol. (Source: AP)


Diana Shipping Announces Public Offering of Common Shares

Diana Shipping Inc. announced that it is commencing a public offering of 10,000,000 primary shares of its common stock pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement. Wachovia Securities and JPMorgan will act as joint book running managers. The Company expects to grant the underwriters an option to purchase an additional 1,500,000 common shares to cover any over- allotments, exercisable within 30 days, and expects to price the offering in due course.


TEN Files Shelf Registration With the SEC

Tsakos Energy Navigation Ltd. (TEN) announced that it filed a $300 million universal shelf registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on May 18, 2006, replacing a prior shelf registration filed in 2003. The filing will allow TEN to offer, from time to time and as corporate needs dictate, any combination of senior and subordinated debt securities, convertible securities, common shares, preferred shares, warrants and depository shares.

Athens, Greece – Dry Ships Inc., a global provider of marine transportation services for dry bulk and petroleum cargoes and off-shore contract drilling oil services, announced that it is offering 9,000,000 common shares of Ocean Rig UDW Inc. (“Ocean Rig”) which it owns in an underwritten public offering pursuant to Ocean Rig’s registration statement on Form F-1, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.


Bulkship Owners, Baltic Trading, Make Public Stock Offering

Baltic Trading say they intend to use the net proceeds from the offering for future vessel acquisitions or as working capital and for general corporate purposes. Jefferies LLC and Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering, and DVB Capital Markets LLC is acting as co-manager for the offering. Nordic American Tanker Shipping Announces Expansion

Hamilton, Bermuda, February 27, 2006 Nordic American Tanker Shipping Ltd. has agreed to acquire a double hull Suezmax vessel of 157,332 dwt built in Korea in 1998, for a price of $69 million. The vessel is expected to be delivered from the seller to the Company in early April 2006. This acquisition will increase the NAT fleet to 9 vessels with an aggregate capacity of 1,383,491 dwt. The vessel is expected to be employed in the spot market


Liberian-Flag Fleet Doubles in 10 Years

The Liberian-flag fleet posted record growth figures in 2010 and has now doubled in size in the ten years since the management of the Liberian Registry was assumed by the US-based Liberian International Ship & Corporate Registry (LISCR). The Liberian-flag fleet was boosted by 586 new registrations last year. Of these, 149 were newbuildings. Net growth was 338 vessels, aggregating 13.6m gt.
