International Engine Room Simulation Conference
The International Maritime Lecturers Association (IMLA) in cooperation with The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) and The Global Maritime and Transportation School (GMATS) presents THE 9th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENGINE ROOM SIMULATORS (ICERS 9), on November 2 - 5, 2009. The International Conference on Engine Room Simulators is the global forum for the exchange of knowledge, experience, views, research results and the identification of common problems with respect to the specification, design and use of engine room simulators (full mission/full task, part-task or desk-top PC based). Previous conferences were held in , (1993), , (1995), , (1997), , (1999), (2001), , P.R.China (2004), , (2005) and recently in (2007). This years theme is “Assessment and Research in Engine Room Simulation” and the conference will be held in Kings Point, N.Y. . (15 Miles East of ) Abstracts of papers at ICERS 9, which are related to the above theme, are invited. Additionally, ICERS 9 will also provide a separate session for paper presentations by engine room simulator manufacturers. Kongsberg Simulators with Multiple DNV Approvals
Engine room simulators approved to the highest DNV certificate level. A total of 14 Kongsberg Maritime Engine Room Simulator models received new Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Statements of Compliance in December 2011. The approvals are according to the revised standards laid out in DNV – Standard for Certification of Maritime Simulators No. 2.14 January 2011, which is based on the requirements of STCW Convention
Transas Installs Simulator Complex in Montenegro

UTT to Get Kongsberg Simulators
The University of Trinidad and Tobago(UTT) has issued a contract to Kongsberg Maritime for the delivery of a Full Mission Ship Handling Simulator and a Full Mission Engine Room Simulator configured to DNV Class A standards. In addition to the Full Mission Ship Handling Simulator, the delivery will include three secondary interactive tug bridges for certification of Mariners in accordance with competency requirements established by the International Maritime Organization(IMO)
Transas Simulators for Intership Navigation
