Superior Offshore International, Inc. has appointed David Weinhoffer to serve as its Vice President of Business Development effective immediately. With over 25 years of oilfield-related and international marine operations experience, David Weinhoffer is a tremendous addition to Superior Offshore International’s executive management team. As Vice President of Business Development, Weinhoffer will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of Superior Offshore International’s Sales, Marketing and Commercial departments.

Parker Terminates Deal
Parker Drilling Company and Superior Energy Services, Inc., have jointly agreed to terminate their merger agreement, in which Parker was to acquire Superior in an exchange of stock. In connection with the termination, Superior will make a cash payment to Parker in settlement of certain obligations under the merger agreement. Caterpillar Celebrates Brazil Op'ns Launch
Caterpillar announced that the Cat© 3500C Diesel Electric Propulsion (DEP) generator sets have entered full production at the Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, manufacturing facility, delivering on a commitment to offer superior Cat power solutions products to the burgeoning Brazilian offshore market. The first shipment of four Cat 3512 DEP generator sets were delivered in December to Navship, a shipbuilder located in Navegantes, Brazil, and operated by Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO).
Kongsberg Delivers Offshore Ops Simulator

Keppel AmFELS to Deliver Scorpion Jackup
Keppel AmFELS Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), is on course to a timely delivery of Scorpion Offshore Ltd.’s first jackup drilling rig at the end of May 2007. The ultra premium drilling rig, Offshore Courageous, is the first of five jackups that Keppel AmFELS is constructing for Scorpion Offshore. The other four rigs are Offshore Defender, Offshore Resolute, Offshore Vigilant and Offshore Intrepid.
Superior Energy Christens Liftboat
Superior Energy Services’ Marine Services Division christened its new 175-ft class liftboat, the Superior Future, on Friday, June 27 at Marine Industrial Fabrication at 4912 Marina Rd., New Iberia, La. Connie Babin, Superior’s Marine Services Division traffic coordinator, performed the christening. Guests from the industry, media and local government had the opportunity to tour the vessel, and lunch was served onboard.
