Intermarine Forms Delta T Alliance

Intermarine of Savannah, Ga., has joined the number of yacht builders who are taking advantage of the new corporate alliance program offered by Delta "T" Systems of Jupiter, Fla. As an alliance member, Intermarine will receive quicker, easier and more cost-efficient access to Delta "T" Systems' engine room ventilation products. The company's products manage airflow through the engine room to optimize engine performance and service life. They include fans, fire dampers, moisture eliminators and automated electronic control systems. As part of the agreement, Intermarine will make Delta "T” Systems products standard aboard all its craft. Intermarine will also benefit from special warranty and cooperative advertising arrangements with Delta "T". Other yacht builders who have joined the alliance include Burger Boat Company, Trinity Yachts and Destiny Yachts.


Ingot and Tò-Kalòn Nominated for Awards

Burger Boat Company announced that Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines have nominated Tò-Kalòn, a 101 ft Burger Enclosed Bridge Motor Yacht, for “Most Innovative Exterior Yacht Design of the Year” and INGOT, a 153 ft Burger Tri-Deck Motor Yacht, for “Best Motor Yacht” (86 feet and up) for the 2009 Asia Boating Awards. No Maritime Lien on Unfinished Hull

In an unpublished opinion, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit ruled that a maritime lien can not attach to an unfinished yacht hull. In the instant case, plaintiff yacht builder commenced an in rem action seeking to recover unpaid wharfage and storage costs related to a yacht hull that was previously under construction at the facility. The yacht hull was never more than 70% complete while at the facility


Dry Blue Star Returns to the Burger Shipyard

Blue Star, a 1987 86.5 ft Raised Pilot House Burger, returned home to the Burger shipyard to have routine maintenance performed.  She arrived at the shipyard Tuesday June 9, 2009 after a 10 hour run from Grand Haven, Michigan where she had spent the winter.  Once at the Burger facilities she was hauled utilizing Burger’s 500mt Marine Travelift.  The Burger Service Team is working closely with the Captain and crew of to assure a rapid return to the water as she is scheduled


Linssen Yachts Signs Agreement with Raymarine

One of the Netherlands' oldest and most respected yacht builders, Linssen Yachts, has confirmed an exclusive supply agreement with marine electronics manufacturer Raymarine. The two companies have worked together for a number of years.  With the formation of the new Raymarine Nederland subsidiary, Linssen yachts has chosen to sign an exclusive supply agreement stating that it provides additional benefits for both the company and its customers.

Atlas Enterprises Moves Heaviest Object Yet: A Superyacht

After a trek that often involved steering with only inches of clearance and a complex 90-degree turn, Chris Holland, president of HMR Supplies, moves this new 215-foot, 480-ton superyacht out of the fabrication facility and to the barge for its initial launch and sea trials.

Atlas Enterprises recently moved the heaviest object employees have transported since it was founded as Ron Holland Housemoving in the early 70s. The superyacht, a 215-foot and 480-ton structure, is equipped with a swimming pool on deck that doubles as a helicopter pad when the pool cover closes over the top. “It’s not the largest thing I have ever driven,” said Chris Holland, president of Atlas Enterprises, “but it is certainly the most expensive.”
