Royal Huisman Takes on Holland Jachtbouw Yard

Royal Huisman, a Dutch shipyard that specialises in the building and repair of sailing yachts, said that it will take over the Holland Jachtbouw facility in Amsterdam for further expansion.The facility, which entered the ownership of the Port of Amsterdam on May 14, will now be leased to Royal Huisman, which will dedicate the yard to its future new-build and refit projects."With the arrival of Royal Huisman, the port of Amsterdam has attracted yet another yacht manufacturer with a Royal Charter," said a release from Amsterdam port.Royal Huisman is the second superyacht manufacturer to join the port of Amsterdam community, following Feadship Royal van Lent, which opened its facilities there in 2016.

Amsterdam Port Partners with HISWA Holland Yachting Group

Port of Amsterdam officially joined the HISWA Holland Yachting Group as a partner on, presenting itself as a new partner to the members during the annual HISWA summer event. The event was held on the wharf of yacht manufacturer Royal van Lent (Feadship) on the Kaag waterway. Port of Amsterdam and the yacht manufacturer had crossed paths before, as Royal van Lent recently expanded its operations by building a brand-new wharf in the port area. The arrival of Royal van Lent has prompted Port of Amsterdam to explore its own opportunities in the luxury yacht (also known as ‘super yachts’) industry and to work on attracting businesses operating in this industry, including yacht manufacturers, re-fitters and suppliers, to the city.

Gulf Craft to Invest $100m in Dubai Shipyard

Dubai Maritime City (DMC), a maritime cluster in Dubai, today announced an agreement with Gulf Craft to invest in a free hold plot located within the marine district of DMC, on an area of approximately 900,000 square feet. According to DMC, Gulf Craft plans to make a $100 million investment in developing this facility over the next five years. It will include a state-of-the-art shipyard to manufacture high-end luxury yachts as well as a service center incorporating cutting-edge, highly specialized technology for the yacht industry.

Yacht Solutions at Italthai Marine has expanded its facility and tripled its superyacht yard capacity in response to the overwhelming demand for space in Thailand’s first dedicated superyacht facility in Bangkok. Since the partnership began in January between Yacht Solutions and Italthai Marine (ITM) at Samut Prakarn in Bangkok Yacht Solutions has received more enquiries for shipyard work than ever before and has already undertaken work on 43-meter SY Douce France, 45-meter MY Big Fish, 52-meter MY Elysium, a 60-meter Oceanco MY, 62-meter SY Lamima and 40-meter MY Amoha.

KCS Int’l Rehires 100 Employees, Orders Pick-Up

KCS International, Inc., the parent company of Cruisers Yachts and Rampage Sport Fishing Yachts, rehired 100 employees to work on new orders for both brands. As the company began the year with 100 employees, the upturn in the economy and increased sales in domestic, Asian and Latin America markets have made it possible for former employees to return. “The growth we have already seen this year has us very optimistic,” said Mark Pedersen, president of KCS International, Inc. “The months ahead are looking quite bright as we re-establish ourselves as one of the world’s leading yacht manufacturers.

KCS Int’l Recalls Workers, New Boat Model

KCS International, Inc., the parent company of Cruisers Yachts and Rampage Sport Fishing Yachts, announced it has hired back 100 of its employees to work on new orders for both brands, and to help complete the 2011 prototype of the 470 Cruisers Yachts Sports Coupe. The new model, set to debut this summer, will come standard with Volvo Penta IPS, Cruisers Yachts’ signature walk-through windshield and other features set to be announced later this year. “Although the past year has been pretty rough on the boating industry, our unwavering commitment to the Cruisers Yachts and Rampage Sport Fishing Yachts brands is what has carried us through these tough economic times,” said Mark Pedersen, president of KCS International, Inc.
