Columbus Launches 80m Yacht Dragon

Gulf Craft Unveils Majesty 175

Superyacht Summer: Italian Yachts Lead

The summer season in most of Europe has been off to a sunny and warm start, which has many longingly wishing to spend time at sea. First Damen SeaExplorer Sold

AMELS and DAMEN have sold the first DAMEN SeaXplorer expedition yacht. The world premiere of this range of 65, 90 and 100-meter ‘true explorer’ designs took place last September at the Monaco Yacht Show. The SeaXplorer 65 is a crossover between professional technology and superyacht exclusivity; it is proven capability where you need it, superyacht luxury where you want it. The expedition yacht offers 40 days of autonomy without port call and complies with the stringent new environmental and safety standards in the IMO Polar Code's B category. Following the sale, the SeaXplorer 65 is scheduled for delivery in 2019.

Damen’s New Yacht Range Sails to the Extremes

Damen’s new SeaXplorer yacht range brings true capability to expedition yachting, from extreme polar to remote tropical areas. The world’s first purpose-built, Polar Code compliant range of expedition yachts has been launched by Dutch shipbuilder Damen and its luxury superyacht division, Amels. Fincantieri, Pininfarina Introduced “Ottantacinque”

At the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show held this morning Fincantieri, leading western shipbuilding group, and Pininfarina, standard-bearer of the Italian design for 85 years, introduced the “Ottantacinque” concept of a latest-generation luxury mega yacht. “Ottantacinque” will be a cutting-edge mega yacht, 85 meters long, 2,460 gross tons, with 5 decks, each of which featuring technological solutions and exclusive interior fittings. with the side bulwark, which offer, together with an elevated sun bed, uninterrupted views on the sea. With the adjustable bottom, the water depth can be varied and even reduced to zero to create a large open platform spanning over 160 square meters.

SAILOR VSAT Antenna Systems Unveiled

Press release - The team at Cobham SATCOM is unveiling a new generation of 60cm Ka-band VSAT antenna systems at Monaco Yacht Show this week. The new SAILOR 60 GX and SAILOR 600 VSAT Ka are based on a lightweight, high performance Ka-band VSAT platform designed for Inmarsat Global Xpress and Telenor THOR 7 High Throughput Satellites (HTS) services. Sharing the same design and lightweight carbon fiber composites/aluminum construction, the SAILOR 60 GX and SAILOR 600 VSAT Ka weigh 37kg.

New DeepFlight Dragon Personal Sub

DeepFlight introduced a new type of personal submarine at the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show: DeepFlight Dragon, an all-electric, compact, lightweight personal submarine to explore down to 400 ft. (120m). At 3,968 pounds (1,800 kg) and under five feet (1.5 m) in height, the Dragon is less than half the weight of competing submarines and readily fits into existing yacht garages or deck areas. Like all DeepFlight personal submarines, the Dragon is positively buoyant, meaning the craft automatically floats to the surface.

BMT Nigel Gee To Launch Project L3 at Monaco Yacht Show

BMT Nigel Gee, a subsidiary of the BMT Group, will be launching its latest innovative design, ‘Project L3’ at the Monaco Yacht Show. Building on Nigel Gee’s heritage in the development of specialised platforms, married with Rob McPherson’s appetite for styling something a little bit different to the norm, this bold concept is maintaining the exceptional standard that has come to be expected from BMT concept design collaborations. The design is based around delivering an extreme of high speed and high volume, for which BMT’s semi-SWATH catamaran is ideal. On a length overall of 85m the design provides over 4200 GT, a figure more akin to a 100-110m monohull.

DeepFlight announced it will introduce a new type of personal submarine at the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show. The company said its new product, the DeepFlight Dragon, is the most compact, lightweight personal submarine on the market, and is so intuitive to use that clients self-pilot the craft with minimal instruction. The all-electric (zero emissions) DeepFlight Dragon was designed specifically for easy use from yacht or shore to explore the twilight zone down to 400 feet (120 meters).

Event Yacht Christened at Amels Yard

The first Amels 199, Event, has been christened at the Amels yard in Vlissingen, Holland. In a few weeks the 60-meter ship will set out on her maiden voyage to Norway to explore the fjords. Event’s delivery was part of a collaboration between Amels and Imperial. The christening was an emotional occasion, the owner sending his thanks to the Amels workforce who were there to enjoy the moment after many months of dedication and hard work. Triton’s Yacht-based Submersible to Debut in Monaco

New lightweight, low profile Triton 1000/3 LP designed specifically to fit into existing yacht tender garages. Triton Submarines (Triton) announced that it will introduce its newest model, the Triton 1000/3 LP (Low Profile) at the 2014 Monaco Yacht show September 24-27. Triton’s model line now includes eleven models configured for two to eight passengers with depth ratings from 1,000 feet (305 meters) to 5,500 feet (1,675 meters) as well as the full ocean depth rated Triton 36000/3. Yacht-based submersibles continue to gain popularity in the yachting community.

Wood Forever Pact: New Criteria for RINA Green Plus Yacht

A Monaco yacht show dedicated to the Green philosophy through numerous initiatives aimed at boosting environmental awareness in the world of pleasure craft.
