Germanischer Lloyd at Seatrade Cruise Shipping

A cruise ship scrapes a reef. A fire breaks out in a storage room. The many different scenarios the Emergency Response Service (ERS) of Germanischer Lloyd has to handle are often hazardous for passengers, seamen and the environment. The emergency service for ships in trouble, already used by ten passenger ships, is presented at Seatrade Cruise Shipping. It is essential for the rescue service to have a computational model giving all the technical data for the ship in question. To produce this, Germanischer Lloyd works with HECSALV, a special "salvage software". If the ship has been classed by Germanischer Lloyd, existing model data can be used. In an emergency situation, the model is used to carry out a computerized simulation of the circumstances of the accident. rescue scenario.
