Valeura Energy Books Tanker for Gulf of Thailand Oil Field

Oil and gas company Valeura Energy has entered into a definitive agreement with PT Samudra Alam Transport to charter the MT Vula crude oil tanker to store oil produced from the Wassana oil field, offshore in the Gulf of Thailand.In Q2 2022, Valeura acquired KrisEnergy International (Thailand) Holdings Ltd. which owns and operates two licenses in the offshore Gulf of Thailand. The acquisition included the suspended Wassana oil field and the fully appraised Rossukon oil field. Additionally, through a separate agreement, the company agreed to acquire the Mobile Production Unit Ingenium (“MOPU”) which is on location at the Wassana oil field.Valeura said this week that the oil tanker to be chartered for Wassana would be renamed MT Jaka Tarub.The MT Jaka Tarub is a Panamax-sized oil tanker…

Keppel FELS to Deliver 100th Jackup Rig

Keppel FELS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) is on track to deliver PV Drilling VI, a KFELS B Class jackup rig, to PV Drilling Overseas (PVDO), a subsidiary of PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corp (PV Drilling) on time, on budget and with a perfect safety record. It is the 100th jackup rig Keppel FELS has built since 1970, of which more than half are based on the KFELS B Class design. Developed by Keppel's technology arm, Offshore Technology Development, this design has a market share of about a quarter of all jackup rigs delivered since 2000.

Keppel FELS Sells $210 Million Jackup Rig

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) is pleased to announce that PV Drilling Overseas (PVDO) is acquiring from the company a KFELS B Class jackup rig for approximately $210 million. Scheduled for delivery in 1Q 2015, the high specification rig will be the 19th KFELS B Class rig on order at Keppel, with 45 already delivered since 2000. Pham Tien Dung, Chairman of PVDO and CEO of PV Drilling said, "We are looking to catch up on the huge demand for offshore rigs and actively seize the opportunities coming. To meet this aim, we are pleased to be able to acquire a premium jackup rig with such an early delivery schedule. The KFELS B Class jackup design was developed by Keppel's technology arm, Offshore Technology Development.

Keppel Delivers PV Drilling III Jackup Early

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has been awarded a bonus of $460,000 for delivering the KFELS B Class jackup rig, PV Drilling III, early to PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corp (PV Drilling). Completed 1.5 months ahead of schedule, without incidents, PV Drilling III has departed Keppel FELS for Vietnam to begin a five-year contract with Vietsovpetro in the Bach Ho field, offshore Vietnam. PV Drilling III completes the series of three KFELS B Class jackup rigs ordered by PV Drilling since 2005. Keppel FELS and PV Drilling Name Twin Rigs

For the first time in rig history, two identical jackup rigs have been named together by Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) and its customer PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corp (PV Drilling). The naming of the twins, PV Drilling II and PV Drilling III, was witnessed by Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Trade & Industry and Education, Mr. S Iswaran at Keppel FELS today. Both rigs are built to Keppel’s proprietary KFELS B Class design, which is a choice rig for discerning drilling operators worldwide.

Keppel FELS to Build $205m Jackup Rig

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) will build a third KFELS B Class jackup drilling rig worth about US$205 million for PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corp’s (PV Drilling) subsidiary PetroVietnam Drilling Investment Corp (PVD Invest). The agreement is subject to conditions being met by March 14. This latest unit and PVD Invest’s second rig PV Drilling II, which is already under construction at Keppel FELS, are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2009 respectively.

Keppel FELS Gets New Rig Order

Keppel FELS Limited secured a $110 million contract to build a jackup rig for Petrovietnam Drilling & Well Services Company (PV Drilling). Mr Tong Chong Heong, Managing Director and COO of Keppel O&M, shared, “We are honoured to be the builder of choice for PV Drilling. “Keppel FELS’ relationship with PV Drilling’s parent company, PetroVietnam, goes back some 20 years when we delivered Vietnam’s first rig, Tam Dao, to Vietsovpetro in 1988. “We are pleased to have secured this new contract after a long bidding period, the country’s second newbuilding project.

Keppel FELS Secures Order for $191m Jackup

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has secured a contract from PetroVietnam Drilling Investment Corp (PVD Invest) to build a $191m jackup drilling rig. The contract was secured following Keppel FELS’s successful delivery of PV Drilling I, a high quality jackup drilling rig, two months ahead of schedule in March 2007. Like PV Drilling I, the new rig will also be built to the KFELS B Class design. To be named PV Drilling II, it is slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2009.
