Bradford Marine Bahamas Completes New Docks

Bradford Grand Bahama, Ltd., one of the Bradford Marine family of companies, announced the completion of 1,200 lineal feet of new docks on the west side of their Freeport, Grand Bahama shipyard. These new docks accommodate yachts and commercial vessels of all sizes, including the largest mega-yachts and super-yachts, and they have full utilities, drainage and work aprons. Construction of the docks utilized almost 2,000 feet of steel pipe and 3,000 feet of 16 inch steel I-beam. Paul Engle, Bradford Marine Bahamas’ President, said “We are very excited about these new docks and our ability to service even more mega and super-yachts and commercial vessels. Bradford Marine Bahamas’ shipyard in Freeport, Grand Bahama has a 35-foot depth, a 1,200-tonne floating drydock, and a 150-tonne Travelift.

Bradford Marine Yacht Sales, New Brand

Bradford Marine, Inc. has acquired rights to the Bradford name relating to yacht sales and charter. As a result, they are reuniting the Bradford name for the first time in over 25 years and re-branding their The Shipyard Group subsidiary which will become known as Bradford Marine Yacht Sales. Bradford Marine was founded in 1966. In the early 1980's, co-founder Charles Blickle left the company but retained use of the Bradford name for his yacht sales and charter business called "Bradford Yacht Sales." In the early 1990's, Bradford Yacht Sales was acquired by outside investors, but Blickle's son, Charles Jr., stayed with that business for many years.

Bradford and Larry Smith Electronics Form a Joint Venture

Bradford Grand Bahama, Ltd. (Bradford) and Larry Smith Electronics (Larry Smith) announce that they have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to form a new Joint Service Venture in the Bahamas. This venture will significantly add to Bradford’s capability to provide a complete world-class, one-stop quality services at its shipyard in Freeport, Grand Bahama and will facilitate Larry Smith in bringing their superior marine electronics sales and repair services to the Bahamas. Bradford Grand Bahama Overcomes Hurricanes

During the recent hurricane assault on the Bahamas, Bradford Grand Bahama, Ltd. (Bradford), one of the Bradford Marine family of companies, hardly missed a beat in the operation of its 50 acre full-service, ISPS-compliant shipyard in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. On September 4, Bradford’s Freeport shipyard was hit by Hurricane Frances, which caused some damage at the facility but inflicted major damage to the utility infrastructure on Grand Bahama Island. Determined to minimize any disruption and to continue providing jobs for its shipyard workers, Bradford swiftly sent a container load of water, food and other supplies to its workers and also purchased a 275 KW, 400 amp generator which it quickly had up and running.
