Sempra LNG, Aramco Sign Deal

North American energy infrastructure company Sempra Energy and Saudi Aramco's Aramco Services Company, signed an Interim Project Participation Agreement for the Port Arthur LNG export project under development in Jefferson County, Texas.According to a press release, the IPPA represents another milestone for both companies after having signed a heads of agreement in May last year for the purchase of 5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and a 25% equity investment in the Port Arthur LNG project.Jeffrey W. Aramco Bags Galveston Bay Honor

The Galveston Bay Foundation recently honored the volunteer efforts of Aramco Services Company (ASC) with its “Guardian of the Bay” award. This award recognizes ASC’s “leadership, work, and commitment for the betterment of Galveston Bay.”According to a press note  the director of Public Affairs Abdulrahman A. Bayounis and Strategic Communications supervisor Alma S. UASC Appoints New Board Leaders

United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) announced the appointment of Dr. Nabeel Al-Amudi as the new Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, and Sheikh Ali bin Jassim bin Mohammad Al-Thani, as Vice-Chairman. Dr. Al Amudi, Al-Thani and the rest of the board will be responsible for driving the company’s global expansion plans and spearheading the company’s efforts to cement UASC’s positions as the market leader in the Middle East and as an emerging global carrier. Duramax Marine, a world leader in water-lubricated rubber bearings, recently broke ground on a new facility that will streamline the company's current manufacturing operations. The facility, with approximately 65,000 sq. ft. of factory and office space will consolidate production and administration into one centralized location in Troy Township, Ohio, approximately 40 miles south east of Cleveland. ABS Elects Kurz And Kwok To Board Of Directors

Gerhard E. Kurz, president and CEO, Seabulk International, Inc. and Joseph Kwok, COO, Neptune Orient Lines Ltd. were elected to the ABS Board of Directors, by the ABS Council, following the recent Annual Members Meeting of the classification society in New York. Kurz is responsible for the revitalization of Seabulk International, Inc. (formerly Hvide Marine Inc.), and Kwok is COO of the NOL group of companies and also its CEO of chartering. He is responsible for the entire group's fleet operations. Also elected to the ABS Council at the Annual meeting were Choo Chian Beng, chairman and managing director, Keppel FELS; Mustafa A. Jalali, president and CEO, Aramco Services Company; Dr. Frank F.H. Lu, chairman, Taiwan Navigation Co.; and A.P. (Paul) Revere, president, Sea River Maritime.
