RCS' EAL Earns Additional Approval

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

March 9, 2015

RSC Bio Solutions announced that its EnviroLogic  802 environmentally acceptable grease has met the requirements for approved use in AEGIR-Marine PRIME rudderstock seals.

This approval is an extension of the existing partnership agreement between AEGIR-Marine and RSC Bio Solutions intended to increase the availability of VGP-approved environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs) for steering systems, stern tube seals and other marine applications.

EnviroLogic 802 grease has been evaluated by independent laboratories to meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) definitions of biodegradable, minimally toxic and not bioaccumulative. RSC Bio Solutions, therefore, certifies its EnviroLogic 802 grease as 2013 U.S. EPA Vessel General Permit (VGP) compliant. The product is formulated to possess strong oxidative stability, corrosion protection, and EP/antiwear protection, as well as excellent dropping point, water resistance, and structure stability over an extremely wide range of temperatures.

Other RSC Bio Solutions products approved for use by AEGIR-Marine include EnviroLogic 3068 and EnviroLogic  3100 readily biodegradable hydraulic fluids.
