Eidesvik Extends Contract with DEME for Viking Neptun CSV

Eidesvik Offshore, a Norwegian offshore vessel owner, has signed a ship management contract extension with DEME for construction support vessel (CSV) Viking Neptun.The three-year extension also includes a two-year option for further extension, according to Eidesvik Offshore.The company has provided full technical management, crewing and operation of Viking Neptun since December 2022.In November the same year, Eidesvik Offshore completed the sale of Viking Neptun CSV to DEME.“This extension is a testament to the exceptional performance of our dedicated crews.

Meyer Werft Bags Its First Offshore Order

German shipbuilder Meyer Werft reports it has secured its first order within the growing offshore converter platform business.The Papenburg shipyard—part of the Meyer Group, known primarily for building cruise ships—will carry out the majority of the steel work for converter platforms for the DolWin4 and BorWin4 offshore connections as well as BalWin1 and BalWin2, all destined for the North Sea."This order is a milestone for us in our entry into the construction of converter platforms, which we will also build at Neptun Werft in Rostock in the future.

The insolvency administrator of the MV Werften Group, Dr Christoph Morgen, today handed over the symbolic key of the Wismar shipyard to Bernard Meyer of Meyer Wismar. Offshore installation company DEME has agreed to acquire Eidesvik's DP3 offshore installation vessel ‘Viking Neptun’. "Representing a substantial investment, this move highlights DEME’s commitment to its customers, and supports the continued growth of the offshore wind industry. This latest addition to its vessel fleet also confirms DEME’s mission to build future-proof, sustainable and environmentally friendly operations," DEME said.The Viking Neptun currently has a turntable capable of handling 4,500 tonnes of cables below deck.

Solstad Offshore Sells Seven Vessels for Recycling

Norwegian offshore vessel operator Solstad Offshore has sold seven vessels that have been laid up for a while for recycling."The vessels to be recycled are defined by Solstad as non-strategic, they are of older age and considered to be irrelevant for present and future markets," Solstad said.The vessels are Sea Tiger, Normand Atlantic, Normand Borg, Normand Neptun, Sea Pollock, Far Strider and Far Sovereign and will be recycled at the Green Yard Feda and Green Yard Kleven shipyards in Norway."We are pleased that we finally can start green recycling of a major number of our oldest vessels.

Havfram Books Eidesvik Offshore's Viking Neptun CSV

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Eidesvik Offshore has won a contract with offshore installation firm Havfram for its construction support vessel Viking Neptun. The contract will start in early January 2022 with a firm period towards the end of the third quarter of 2022. Havfram, formerly known as Ocean Installer, will have options for further extension. The Viking Neptun is an offshore construction vessel built for servicing the SURF (Subsea, Umbilical, Riser, and Flowlines) market. The vessel is equipped with hybrid technology to ensure reduced emissions. Neptun Werft Delivers River Cruise Pair to Viking

German shipbuilder Neptun Werft said on Thursday it has delivered two new river cruise ships to the shipping company Viking River Cruises (Basel).The ships, to be named Viking Gymir and Viking Egdir, are the last two river cruise ships in the builder's current order book, ending a string of 65 sister ship deliveries for Viking River Cruises ordered at Neptun Werft from 2010 onward."More than a decade ago we launched this series of ships, which has been extremely successful and very popular with passengers.

Operations to raise a livestock carrier that capsized in the Black sea off Romania in November came to a close on Tuesday night, said local marine services firm Gruup Servici Petoliere (GSP).The Palau-registered Queen Hind flipped onto its side shortly after leaving Romania's Midia port en route to Saudi Arabia at the end of November 2019. Ocean Installer Bags Triton Gig from Dana

Aberdeen-based Oil and gas company Dana Petroleum has awarded Norway's Ocean Installer a contract for work at the Triton Area Development, located in the Central North Sea, around 190 km east of Aberdeen.According to a press release, the award, which is Ocean Installer’s first with Dana, involves the installation and trenching of a 12” Flexible Production Flowline at the Guillemot field.The project will be executed by Ocean Installer’s office in Aberdeen, with engineering work beginning immediately and offshore operations scheduled for Q2 2020. Simon Mokster Sells PSV Stril Neptun

Norwegian offshore support vessels company Simon Mokster Rederi said that it has sold the 3,000-dwt platform supply vessel (PSV) Stril Neptun to Greek interest for work outside the offshore shipping segment.Stril Neptun was delivered back in 1999 and has served long contracts as combined standby and supply on the NCS for Exxon (now Vår Energi), Equinor and BP/Aker BP for many years.The vessel is delivered to the new owners and will head to the Mediterranian early November, said a press note."Møkster is grateful to all seafarers, office personnel and other parties having had work related to the vessel for almost 20 years," the release said.

The shipyard group MV WERFTEN is acquiring the Rostock-based Neptun Ship Design, Germany’s largest ship design office. Neptun Ship Design in Rostock is being acquired as an independent subsidiary of MV WERFTEN to provide design services for the shipyard group in future. In addition to the group’s own designers at its yards in Wismar, Rostock and Stralsund as well as a designer network throughout Europe, further significant engineering capacities are thus being united under one roof.
