Maersk Supply Service Orders Six Anchor Handlers

Kleven Maritime A/S has been contracted by Maersk Supply Service to build six anchor handling tug supply vessels, with options for four additional newbuilds. The vessels, all of Salt Ship Design’s SALT 200 AHTS design, will be built at Kleven's two shipyards in Norway, Kleven Verft and Myklebust Verft for deepwater operations for potential customers including international oil companies and construction companies worldwide. The first six vessels are to be delivered between the fourth quarter of 2016 and the third quarter of 2017, the builder said.

Maersk Supply Service Orders Six Offshore Vessels

Maersk Supply Service, a unit in Danish conglomerate A.P. Moller-Maersk, said on Thursday it has placed an order for six new large anchor-handling tug supply vessels from Kleven Maritime in Norway. "The vessels are built for deep water operations and potential customers are international oil companies and construction companies worldwide," the company said in a statement. Delivery of the first vessels is expected in the fourth quarter of 2016. The parties have agreed not to disclose value of the contract. Reporting by Ole Mikkelsen

Topaz Buys Two Anchor Handling Vessels

Topaz Energy and Marine has announced the acquisition of two large and modern Anchor Handling Towage and Supply Vessels (AHTSV) at a purchase price in excess of $100 million (USD). The vessels, the Caspian Challenger and the Caspian Endeavour, are sister vessels built by Kleven Maritime in Norway in 2008 and 2009, respectively. The vessels are equipped with dynamic positioning DP2, automated safe anchor handing capabilities and are currently the most powerful vessels operating in the Caspian basin at 17,200 BHP and 190 metric tons bollard pull.

Kleven Maritime to Build LNG-powered PSV for Remøy Shipping

The vessel is to be built at Kleven Maritime’s shipyard Kleven Verft. Total contract value for Kleven is around 400 million NOK. Wärtsilä Contracted to Supply PSV Ship Designs, Propulsion Systems

Wärtsilä  has been contracted to supply the ship designs for three new platform supply vessels (PSVs). The contracts have been signed with Kleven Maritime AS, the Norwegian shipyard that will build the vessels, two of which will be owned by Atlantic Offshore and the other by Remøy Shipping. Both are Norway based companies. All three ships will be operated by Statoil, the partly state-owned Norwegian oil and gas company. The two PSVs for Atlantic Offshore will also feature Wärtsilä power and propulsion, electrical and automation systems, including the patented Wärtsilä Low Loss Concept (LLC). The highly redundant diesel-electric system provides additional reliability for continuous operation in various failure modes.

Kleven Orders 400-tonne MacGregor Crane From Cargotec

Cargotec has secured a substantial new contract from Norwegian company Kleven Maritime. Delivery includes a 400-tonne MacGregor active heave-compensated offshore crane with an outreach of 15m. A second smaller crane, which will have a safe working load of 100-tonnes at 9m outreach, is also included in the contract. The 400-tonne unit will have its winch installed below the working deck. The cranes are scheduled for delivery at the beginning of 2014. This order has been booked to Cargotec's second quarter 2012 order intake.

Kleven Maritime to Build Two PSV's for Atlantic Offshore

The vessels are to be built at Kleven Maritime’s shipyard Myklebust Verft. The contract also includes an option for a further vessel of the same type. Atlantic Offshore, based in Sotra, Norway, has signed a long-term contract with Statoil for the two PSVs now ordered, and the vessels will enter this chart immediately after delivery in Q1 and Q3 2014. The vessels are of VS 485 MKIII L,  a vessel type Kleven Maritime has built several of previously. With a length of 90 metres, the vessels will each have a deck area in access of 1000 m2.

Kleven Maritime to Build Subsea Construction Vessel for Eidesvik

Kleven Maritime has signed a contract with Norwegian based ship owner Eidesvik on the delivery of a large offshore subsea construction vessel of SALT 301 OCV-design by Salt Ship Design. The vessel is to be built in Kleven Maritime’s shipyard Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway. The total contract value is around 1.1 billion NOK. The contract also includes an option for a further vessel of the same type. The vessel will have a dead weight of around 13.500 tonnes, length 145 m, width 31 m, and will have accommodation for 150 persons.

Seismic Vessel Order for Kleven Maritime

Sanco Shipping AS has declared an option for a second seismic vessel to be built at Kleven Maritime’s yard Myklebust Verft in Norway. The vessel, to be named Sanco Sword, is to be delivered in Q1 2014. Its sister vessel Sanco Swift will be delivered from Myklebust Verft in July 2013. Kleven Maritime has nine vessels in its order book, with a total value of more than four billion NOK (€132 million). “We are impressed by Sanco and their investments in the very advanced seismic market.

Parat Halvorsen Awarded Boiler Plant Contract

Parat Halvorsen has been awarded a new boiler plant contract by Kleven Maritime. The ship will be built at Kleven Verft AS, NB 357, and is of Marine Teknikk design MT 6015, which is a combined Platform Supply- and Sub Sea construction vessel. The ship will be delivered to the owner, Myklebusthaug Management, in February, 2013. The Parat boiler plant consists of an electric 1250kW boiler, including heat recovery exchangers for various water consumers, and a complete system, including steam injection lances for ORO/OSR mobilization, which is a necessary part to meet and satisfy NOFO’s demands and regulations. The boiler will be powered on direct current voltage and not alternating current, which has been the standard solution.

MAN Engines to Power Seismic Vessel in Norway

MAN Diesel & Turbo signed a contract on 7 July 2011 in Frederikshavn, Denmark for the supply of 4 × MAN 8L32/40 engines to power a seismic vessel ordered by Sanco Shipping of Norway. The vessel will be built by Kleven Maritime at Myklebust shipyard in southern Norway and is scheduled for delivery by 31 May, 2013. The four-stroke engines will be constructed in Augsburg, headquarters of MAN Diesel & Turbo and a four-stroke engine production site in its own right. New Profit Record for Kleven Maritime

2010 was a Gullåren for Kleven Maritime. The Company delivered record results for 2010. Operating profit came to 238.7 million, an increase of 96 million from the record year 2009. The profit before tax was 213.8 million, an increase of 97.3 million from the year before. The country's largest Norwegian-owned shipbuilding group also has good speed control in 2011. The order list is now in 10 new buildings, for a total contract sum of 3.7 billion. CEO Ståle Rasmussen is happy with last year's results, but emphasizes that it is continually worked to increase value creation and profitability.

Kleven Maritime Contract with Olympic Shipping

Fosnavåg-shipping company Olympic Shipping contracting newbuildings at Kleven Maritime to 380 million. Contract with Olympic Shipping Kleven Maritime confirms its position as the largest Norwegian-owned shipbuilding group. This is the group's second contract in two weeks. Vessel will be delivered in November 2012 and hosted the third of three similar vessels, where the first two were ordered in August 2010 and January 2011. The ships are of the design MT 6015 from the Marine Engineering and is a multi-user platform service vessels.

Wärtsilä Wins Total Solution Order for LNG Vessel

Wärtsilä, the marine industry's leading solutions provider, has been contracted by Kleven Maritime of Norway to design a new LNG powered Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) of the Norwegian operator Rem Offshore. The scope of the order also includes the propulsion machinery, automation and other equipment for the same vessel. Wärtsilä is the clear market leader in supplying design and propulsion solutions for LNG powered PSVs, a position that is further strengthened with this order.

New Contract to Kleven Maritime

Kleven Maritime has signed a new contract with Rem Offshore for delivery of one LNG powered offshore vessel. With this new contract, Kleven Maritime’s order reserve increases to 9 vessels at a combined value of 3.3 billion NOK. The vessel is of Wärtsilä Ship Design and is scheduled for delivery from Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik in December 2012. Kleven Verft is currently building two vessels for Rem Offshore and has previously delivered 11 ships to the company. It is thus a long running partnership which has now been extended with yet another vessel.

Kleven Maritime Enters Deal with Meling Supply AS

Kleven Maritime has entered into contract with Meling Supply AS for the building of one multifunctional platform supply vessel, design VS 485, designed by Wärtsilä Ship Design Norway. The company Meling Supply AS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the shipowner O. H. Meling & Co. AS in Stavanger, Norway. The vessel will be outfitted at Myklebust Verft in Gursken, Norway, delivery date is February 28, 2011. This is the third contract for Kleven Maritime within a month of the same vessel design, VS 485.

2010 Orders for OptiMarin AS

Since the beginning of 2010, OptiMarin AS has received eight orders for the type approved ballast water treatment system OptiMarin Ballast System (OBS). The orders are placed by yards on behalf of major ship owners. •    Four Platform Supply Vessels that K Line Offshore AS are building at STX Norway Offshore AS Brevik. The vessels are of the STX PSV 06 CD design and the technical management of the vessels is entrusted to OSM Shipmanagement AS. •    Two Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels that Siem Offshore are building at Kleven Maritime. The vessels are of the VS 491 CD design. •    Two Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels that K Line Offshore AS are building at STX Norway Offshore AS Langsten.

Nyda New Chairman, CEO at Davie Yards

Davie Yards Inc. (TSX:DAV) announced that Gustav Johan Nydal will be joining the corporation as President and CEO. Nydal-who has extensive experience in the marine industry-is taking over for Steinar Kulen, who will become Chairman of the Board of Davie. Both appointments are effective as of February 15, 2010. Over the last two years, Kulen has built up Davie's shipbuilding activities and has taken Davie through a financial and organizational restructuring. The corporation has five ships under construction and around 1,800 employees at the yard. Davie's team has also been strengthened with experienced senior management as well as qualified shipbuilding specialists. Davie is now well positioned for new contracts.

Kleven to Build Six for Siem Offshore

Norway’s Kleven Maritime won a $477m contract to build six ships for Siem Offshore. The shipyards will deliver six, 292-ft. Kleven Maritime to Build Six for Siem

Norwegian shipbuilding group Kleven Maritime AS won a $477m contract to build six ships for Siem Offshore, the companies announced. Kleven said the contract shared by its two western Norway yards was the largest in its history. The shipyards will deliver six, 292-ft. anchor handling tugboats during 2009 and 2010, with an option for six more in 2010. Aker Yards, Kleven Finalize Agreement

Aker Yards finalized the transaction with Kleven Maritime to acquire Kleven Florø AS and Kleven Design AS. Aker Yards has acquired Kleven Florø and Kleven Design at a price of approximately $9.7m including debt, and will compensate for working capital in excess of zero. In addition there will be further payments based on performance on existing order backlog and new orders in the coming three years. The order intake part of the payments is capped at $5.8m. The turnover of Kleven Florø and Kleven Design was $56.8m in 2005. The orderbook today consists of one juice tanker and two chemical tankers at a total value of approximately $211m.

Aker Yards Enters Chem Tanker Market

Aker Yards signed an agreement with Kleven Maritime to acquire Kleven Florø AS, and Kleven Design AS. Both entities are located in Florø, Norway. The acquisition strengthens Aker Yards' Merchant Vessels Business Area by adding a product range of highly specialized chemical tankers, meeting customer demand and new regulatory requirements. The previously announced joint venture with Damen Shipyard Group in Ukraine creates an opportunity for Aker Yards to develop a new highly competitive line of chemical carriers in combination with Kleven tanker know-how. Aker Yards has agreed to acquire Kleven Florø and Kleven Design at a price of $9.5m including debt, based on a working capital of zero.
