Alion Opens New Facility in Charleston

Keeping warfighters connected at all times is essential to mission success and is the driving force behind the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) and Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic). Alion Names Kevin Boyle General Counsel

Alion Science and Technology, a global engineering, technology and operational solutions company, announced that Kevin Boyle has joined the company as General Counsel. Mr. Boyle’s expertise includes government contracts law and litigation, M&A, equity and debt financing, SEC compliance and intellectual property. He will support Alion’s worldwide growth strategy as well as corporate governance and ethics initiatives. Mr. Boyle was formerly General Counsel for MCR, LLC, where he established the company’s first legal department and corporate governance functions and helped navigate the company through several important legal and regulatory challenges.

Alion Awarded Canadian Shipbuilding Contract

Alion Part of Winning Team Awarded $8 Billion Canadian Shipbuilding Contract. Technology Solutions Firm to Support Design and Engineering for Non-combat Vessels. Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned engineering, R&D and operational solutions firm, is part of the team awarded an $8 Billion contract to construct non-combat-oriented vessels under Canada’s National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS). Working with team lead Seaspan Marine Corp.(www.seaspan.com), Alion will provide ship design and engineering through its wholly owned subsidiary, Alion Canada of Ottawa, Ontario. Under the contract, the team will design and construct vessels that address Canada's long-range plans for non-combatant vessels.

Alion to Acquire Certain Assets of Anteon

On Sunday, June 4, Alion Science and Technology signed an agreement to purchase certain assets of Anteon Corporation’s program management and engineering services business. This business unit of approximately 900 employees provides substantial technical and operational support to the DoD, in particular the US Navy and Air Force. It is anticipated that the acquisition will be completed by June 30, 2006. Alion’s Chairman and CEO, Bahman Atefi, said that the acquisition will provide significant benefits to Alion, the incoming employees and our customers. “With our longstanding experience supporting complex DoD programs, Alion can provide an environment in which these Anteon employees and the work they perform can thrive,” he said.

Alion Acquires Micro Analysis & Design

Alion Science and Technology, a technology solutions provider for government and industry, has acquired Boulder, Col., - based Micro Analysis & Design (MA&D), provider of human factors engineering, modeling and simulation and software development. Terms of the deal, which was completed on May 19, 2006, were not disclosed. "The acquisition of MA&D enhances Alion's current capabilities in human systems integration, ship design and modeling and simulation," said Bahman Atefi, Chairman and CEO of Alion. "MA&D has been recognized for their outstanding work for the US Army and Navy as well as hospitals and industrial customers. We are looking forward to the new capabilities and technologies that they will bring to our existing skill sets," he explained.
