AAM Wins Hybrid Passenger Vessel Contract

All American Marine, Inc. (AAM), inked a deal for the construction of a new hybrid electric passenger vessel to be delivered to the Red and White Fleet of San Francisco, California. The contract for the new 600 passenger aluminum monohull was signed during the recent annual Maritrends Conference put on by the Passenger Vessel Association. AAM’s latest contract follows an earlier announcement made by the company regarding a construction agreement for a 500 passenger aluminum monohull tour boat for Argosy Cruises of Seattle, WA.

AAM to Construct USACE Survey Catamaran

All American Marine, Inc. (AAM) was recently awarded a contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for the design and construction of a new hydrofoil supported aluminum catamaran survey vessel. The vessel will primarily perform survey missions and some dive operations in support of dredging work planned within the Corps’ Philadelphia District. USACE has designated that the new catamaran will replace the aging survey boat, Shuman, which currently fills the mission critical role. The 68’ x 26’ custom aluminum catamaran will be designed by Teknicraft Design, Ltd.

USACE Orders Foil-assisted Survey Catamaran

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has awarded a contract to All American Marine, Inc. (AAM) for the design and construction of a new hydrofoil supported aluminum catamaran survey vessel. The new vessel will replace the aging survey boat, Shuman, to primarily perform survey missions and some dive operations in support of dredging work planned within the Corps’ Philadelphia District. The 68- by 26-foot custom aluminum catamaran will be designed by Auckland, New Zealand firm Teknicraft Design, Ltd., for whom AAM is the exclusive in North America builder.

New Research Vessel for University of New Hampshire

All American Marine, Inc. (AAM) has entered into a contract with the University of New Hampshire (UNH) for the design and construction of a new aluminum catamaran research vessel. AAM will build the 48’ x 17’ catamaran custom devised by Teknicraft Design, Ltd. of Auckland, New Zealand. The new vessel, funded through a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will serve the Joint Hydrographic Center (JHC) at UNH. It will join UNH’s existing fleet and will complement capabilities by offering a highly complex multi-mission platform.

All American Marine, Inc.(AAM) together with the University of New Hampshire (UNH) are pleased to announce a contract for the design and construction of a new aluminum catamaran research vessel. All American Marine will build the 48’ x 17’ catamaran custom devised by Teknicraft Design, Ltd. of Auckland, New Zealand. The new vessel, funded through a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will serve the Joint Hydrographic Center (JHC) at UNH. It will be joining the University’s existing fleet and will complement capabilities by offering a highly complex multi-mission platform. The aluminum hull will feature the Teknicraft Design signature hull shape with symmetrical bow, asymmetrical tunnel, and integrated wave piercer.

All American Marine on Course to Double in Size

The Port of Bellingham is poised to change the layout of 7.66 acres of industrial property in Fairhaven and build new infrastructure to support the expansion of two major waterfront employers, All American Marine and Fairhaven Shipyard. “All American Marine and Fairhaven Shipyard provide over 150 family-wage jobs to our local community” said Port Commission President Dan Robbins. The Port worked closely with both tenants to develop a strategy for improvements which better supports existing operations and plans for future expansion. The entire site is impacted by historic industrial contamination and is scheduled for a major cleanup effort so any suggested changes required additional analysis to ensure compliance with state cleanup regulations.

All American Marine Delivers Ferry to Seattle

All American Marine, Inc. (AAM) today announced the delivery of a new passenger ferry that will serve the city of Seattle. The vessel, MV Sally Fox, was dedicated at a ceremony on Vashon Island on Saturday. The Sally Fox is the first of two new ferries ordered by King County’s Marine Division as replacement vessels for their scheduled water taxi service. All American Marine was awarded the contract and issued the Notice to Proceed for the identical vessels at the start of 2014. Sally Fox is the first U.S.

AAM Shipyard CEO Buys Out Founding Partner

CEO, Matthew Mullett, acquires complete control of All American Marine from founder partner Pat Pitsch. Mullett joined AAM as CEO in 1999 and has served as the managing partner of the shipyard since he became co-owner in 2003. Under Mullett’s leadership, the small boat builder has grown to become an award-winning and internationally known entity. Originally known for their 32’ aluminum bay boats and 6-pak charter boats, the company has since diversified their product line to include highly complex patrol boats, research vessels, survey boats, and high speed passenger ferries.

The 'All American' Research Vessel Delivered

At 134-feet (40.8 meters) in length the research vessel Sea Scout is the largest catamaran built by All American Marine in Bellingham, Washington and the largest vessel designed by Nic deWaal’s Teknicraft Design of Auckland New Zealand. With its length and 37-foot 4-inch beam, this is not only a large vessel it is, as C&C Technologies Survey Services newest vessel, a highly sophisticated and complex craft. A vessel such of this has a dual personality. The first being a crewed vessel designed to get from place to place in an efficient manner.

LA Port Police Contract with All American Marine for Dive and Patrol Catamaran

All American Marine, Inc. is pleased to announce their latest vessel contract awarded by the Port of Los Angeles Harbor Department for a new dive and patrol catamaran. The 65’ x 24’ aluminum catamaran will be used by the LA Port Police dive team and will feature Teknicraft Design’s signature hull shape and hydrofoil technology. The design of the vessel is based upon the previously built R/V Shearwater and R/V Fulmar, which are operated by NOAA throughout California’s four National Marine Sanctuaries.

Yearbook 2010: Boatyards

In the vessel construction market, small boat builder All American Marine of Bellingham, Wash., and RIB builder Wing Inflatables of Arcata, Calif. both reported a satisfactory 2010 in their niche markets, with good reasons to be optimistic about 2011. Bollinger Shipyards, a major builder in the offshore market also had a good 2010, but is bracing for the impact of the drilling moratorium going into 2011. Meanwhile, new yard, Argosy Boat Company, of Pierre Part, La., is still working to establish itself as a diesel-electric, Z-drive towboat builder.

All American Marine to Construct Advanced Survey Catamaran

All American Marine, Inc. (AAM) of Bellingham, Wash. and C & C Technologies, Inc. (C & C) of Lafayette, La. announced the commencement of construction of a new catamaran survey vessel. C & C Technologies recently signed a contract with All American Marine to construct a new 134-ft by 37-ft aluminum catamaran for survey operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The two companies have been developing the design concept for the advanced vessel for nearly two years. Teknicraft Design Ltd.

All American Completes 83-ft Alaska Ferry

All American Marine, Inc. delivered another 83-ft hydrofoil-assisted aluminum catamaran for operation in Alaska. The recently launched Kachemak Voyager will operate in Kachemak Bay and provide passenger ferry service between the communities of Seldovia and Homer. Through a competitive bidding process, the Seldovia Village Tribe awarded a contract to All American Marine in September 2008 to build a sistership to the CIRI owned, M/V Aialik Voyager and M/V Orca Voyager, AAM previously built for servicing the Kenai Peninsula.

Ultra-Low Wake Ferry Gets Green Light

All American Marine, Inc. and Teknicraft Design, Ltd. have successfully made a proposal to Kitsap Transit to bring a new passenger ferry to Rich Passage. On Tuesday, April 21st, the commissioners of Kitsap Transit unanimously approved $5.3m for the purchase of a 77 ft ultra-low wake Teknicraft catamaran and on May 18th, All American Marine received the signed notice-to-proceed. The high speed passenger catamaran will carry 118 passengers and operate between Bremerton and Seattle, Washington at speeds of 29 to 38 knots.

Quad-jet Powered Cat Launched

All American Marine, Inc., announced the launch of the Condor Express, Southern California's first quad-jet powered catamaran charter boat. The catamaran's new owner, Capt. Fred Benko, set out recently from Bellingham's Cruise Terminal for Santa Barbara, where the boat will be used for whale watching tours and other functions between Santa Barbara and the Channel Islands. The Condor Express is All American Marine's 10th Teknicraft high-speed aluminum power catamaran. In addition to serving both tourists and scientists interested in whale watching, the boat will also be used for dinner cruises, weddings and other celebrations, as well as marine education for children.
