Transas to Participate in ETC-2014

Transas will take part in the ETC-2014 – The second International Forum on Seafarers’ Education, Training and Crewing. The Forum which consists of the Conference and Exhibition will be held on 23-24th of April 2014 in Odessa, Ukraine. Andrey Sitkov will present Transas view on future trends and challenges in maritime simulation. Some of the topics include STCW training, financial issues and ways to overcome this, upcoming trends in the industry that will influence the maritime simulation market and new areas of simulator application. Maritime World Best Speakers: this year IMO Secretary-General Mr. Advertising and direct communication: Exhibition is visited by thousands of seafarers, cadets and other representatives of maritime industry.

SpecTec Sponsors ONMA Competition

On November 6th, 2008, SpecTec participated in the awards ceremony for the “Best Cadet in AMOS” Competition at Odessa National Maritime Academy in Ukraine. The ceremony kicked off with a speech from ONMA management on the importance of Asset Management Operating System (AMOS) courses. SpecTec CFO, Stefano Foti, also expressed the importance of the cooperation between SpecTec and ONMA. The award ceremony took place at the Central Academy Hall. The program also included a welcome speech by Alexander Donchuk, SpecTec Ukraine, with his introduction to AMOS2 EMS. The ONMA is the largest Maritime Academy in the Ukraine. As part of the agreement, SpecTec will sponsor the annual competition among the cadets at ONMA.

American Club takes Pilot Training Initiative

At a time when marine pilotage is coming under sharp focus by ship operators, marine insurers and seafarers' unions, the American Club has made a ground-breaking agreement with the Odessa National Maritime Academy in the Ukraine to provide training courses on marine pilotage for its members' deck officers. This development is a result of the club establishing a relationship with the Ukrainian maritime community through its Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) scheme, launched in March this year, which has led to liaison with the Odessa National Maritime Academy.
