Jumbo Offshore Awarded Monopile Removal Contract in Taiwan

Jumbo Offshore has been awarded a contract by Yunneg Wind Power Co. (YWPC) for the removal of monopiles at the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan.The contract award represents an expansion of the company’s existing scope, which has involved transport and installation of the project’s transition pieces.Under the amendment, some monopiles, which were installed during an earlier project phase, are to be removed approximately 3m below mean seabed level. Van Oord contracts Jumbo Offshore

Jumbo Offshore was contracted by Van Oord for the transport and install of transition pieces for the Baltic Eagle offshore wind project in the German Baltic Sea. Operations on the project are to commence in October 2023.Under the contract, Jumbo Offshore will be responsible for transportation and installation (T&I) of transition pieces from the marshalling yard to the offshore wind farm site. “To date, Jumbo Offshore has transported and installed over 400 transition pieces with our DP2 heavy lift vessels,” said Brian Boutkan, Manager Commerce at Jumbo Offshore.

Shell Awards Deepwater Installation Contract in GOM

In another sign that activity in the moribund offshore sector is starting to loosen, Jumbo said that it has won the installation contract for the Shell deep-water Vito development in the US Gulf of Mexico. The Vito development is located in the Mississippi Canyon, approximately 150 miles south of New Orleans in water depth of more than 4,000 feet. Jumbo’s installation contract involves the initial pre-lay of the mooring system as well as the subsequent tow and hook-up of the FPS. Jumbo Completes Work on Bangladesh FLNG Terminal

In 2017 Jumbo was awarded a contract by Geocean for the Moheshkhali Project, which is seeing a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal developed off the shores of Moheshkhali Island in the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh. Jumbo Orders LNG-powered Heavy Lift Ship

Dutch transportation and installation contractor Jumbo said it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with shipbuilder China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMIH) for the construction of a new heavy lift crane vessel (HLCV) scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2020. The DP2 vessel will feature dual fuel engines capable of operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG), and will be built to serve the offshore wind and the offshore oil and gas industries. “Despite the current offshore climate, we are committing to this industry long term,” said Jumbo managing director, Michael Kahn.

Jumbo Offshore Wins Offshore Wind Contract

MT Højgaard has awarded Jumbo Offshore the transport and installation contract for all of the 111 Transition Pieces (TP’s) for the Anholt Offshore Wind Farm (Denmark). The 400 MW wind farm is currently being developed by DONG Energy. The Anholt Wind Farm is located in the ‘Kattegat’, near Anholt Island, and will be the largest offshore wind farm in Denmark. One of Jumbo’s DP2 Offshore Heavy Lift Vessels will install the TP’s on pre-installed monopiles, starting April 2012. Anholt is a result of Danish government policy, which aims for a society independent of fossil fuels.

Jumbo Offshore to Install Protection Structures

In June 2011, Jumbo’s DP2 Offshore Heavy Lift Vessel Fairplayer will install 4 subsea protection structures for production flowlines at 600 m water depth in the Laggan & Tormore fields. These gas condensate fields, owned by Total and Dong Energy, are located 125 km north-west of the Shetland Islands. This region contains approx. 17% of the remaining UK oil and gas reserves. The subcontract, commissioned by client Allseas, will combine transport and installation, Jumbo Offshore’s hallmark.

Jumbo Offshore Completes Wind Farm Project

Jumbo Offshore has completed its TP-installation project for the Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm (GGOWF), off the UK’s south-east coast. For client Fluor, Jumbo’s DP2 Heavy Lift Vessel Jumbo Javelin installed 131 TP’s (out of 140 in the field) with a record-breaking installation speed of more than one TP per day. The job included leveling and grouting operations and was done without any serious accidents or incidents. This is the first time that TP’s have been transported and installed using a free floating vessel on Dynamic Position.

Jumbo, Technip Installation in 8,200 ft of Water

Technip USA, supported by its contractor Jumbo Offshore have completed the installation of five free standing hybrid risers (FSHR’s) for the Petrobras America Inc. Cascade & Chinook ultra-deepwater project in the Gulf of Mexico. Transportation of the five buoyancy cans was handled by Jumbo’s Fairplayer. Installation, lead by Technip, was engineered and executed in smooth and successful collaboration. Technip’s construction vessels Deep Blue and Deep Pioneer, together with the Fairplayer, installed the buoyancy cans and risers in winter conditions and with zero HSE recordable.

Jumbo Offshore Installs Offshore Wind Equipment

Jumbo Offshore’s crew, engineers and subcontractors have successfully completed the first leg of their current Transition Piece (TP) installation project. Jumbo’s DP2-vessel Jumbo Javelin installed the TP’s, the first 18 of a series of approx. 110, within schedule. The work for the Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm (GGOWF), off the UK’s south-east coast, will take up the better part of the rest of the year. This is the first time that TP’s have been transported and installed using a free floating vessel on DP.

Jumbo Offshore Installs First Transition Piece

Jumbo Offshore’s engineers and the crew of DP2-vessel Jumbo Javelin have successfully installed their first Transition Piece (TP), off the UK’s south-east coast. This is the first time that a TP has been transported and installed with only one DP2 vessel. The installation trial included leveling and grouting operations and even the removal of the TP. With a workability for critical lifts in wave heights up to at least Hs = 1.5m, Jumbo Offshore is now able to deliver various installation services for offshore wind farms.

Ampelmann on Jumbo Javelin

One of Jumbo Offshore’s heavy lift & installation vessels, the DP2-ship Jumbo Javelin, is preparing to deliver installation services for offshore wind farms. It will be able to ship and install Transition Pieces (TP’s) for wind turbines. The vessel will be able to carry nine TP’s at a time, each with a weight of approx. 285 tonnes. All the TP’s can be stowed vertically in the hold of the vessel and transported to the offshore location site. Jumbo Offshore Contract From Technip USA

Jumbo Offshore v.o.f has been awarded a combined transportation and installation contract by Technip USA in connection with the Cascade and Chinook fields in the Gulf of Mexico. Jumbo Offshore, North Amethyst Project

On June 20, Technip, supported by Jumbo Offshore, completed the installation of four subsea structures including two Module Support Frames each weighing approximately 150 tonnes. The foundations were lowered to the Grand Banks sea floor at a depth of approximately 120 meters and will support subsea manifolds and flowlines that are part of a multiple well tie-back. The project was executed at the White Rose oilfield, offshore Newfoundland, on behalf of a major Canadian energy company.
