Marine Coatings: APC Reports Maritime Sales Up 40% in '21

Advanced Polymer Coatings (APC), the owner of the MarineLINE cargo tank coating brand, announced its most successful year of trading with maritime sales growing by 40% in 2021.By it's own reckoning the Ohio-headquartered company says it accounts for more than 12% of the global cargo tank coating market, specified on more than 700 ships, with 56 ships coated equating to over 750,000 sq. m. of MarineLINE applied in 2021.Growth is being driven by a rapidly changing shipping landscape…

APC Announces Retirement of Harrington

Advanced Polymer Coatings (APC) has announced the retirement of Joseph F. Harrington after 25 years with Advanced Polymer Coatings. In 1994 he was approached by Don Keehan, Chairman of Advanced Polymer Coatings, to further develop the Marine Coatings industry with APC’s MarineLINE high-performance coating. Antifouling Paint Helps USCG Sink Maintenance Costs

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has reduced maintenance costs by minimizing the time spent on ship bottom refurbishing, with the help of E Paint Company of East Falmouth, Mass. E Paint SN-1 coating provides USCG vessels with well-balanced control over a wide array of common soft and hard fouling species. Vessels coated with E Paint SN-1 solventborne antifouling paint can operate for up to two years before they must be hauled, pressure-washed and repainted. This is longer than is possible with virtually all approved non-metallic biocide antifouling paint. Extending the interval between maintenance significantly reduces vessel downtime.
