PortVision Commits Funds for US Ports, Waterways, Development

PortVision launches $500,000 grant initiative to help improve U.S. Port & Waterway efficiency, safety and security. PortVision®, a leading provider of business intelligence solutions for the maritime industry, launches the PortVision CONNECT initiative, which includes a $500,000 commitment to fund the development and implementation of web-based solutions that help non-profit maritime organizations enhance port and waterway efficiency, safety and security for their stakeholders. Eligible PortVision CONNECT grant participants include harbor safety committees, trade associations, marine exchanges and other industry organizations that have a primarily maritime mission.

APL: Vietnam Seaport Master Plan Must Have Long-Term Focus

Vietnam must better coordinate the planning and construction of an integrated seaport network to handle the country’s rapid trade growth, according to container transportation leader APL. The company was providing an update of the findings outlined in a research paper, entitled: “Vietnam Transportation and Logistics: Challenges and Opportunities”, developed earlier this year by the NOL Group, the Singapore-based parent company of APL, to examine Vietnam’s transportation and logistics environment. “Vietnam’s cargo growth potential is tremendous.
