Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

August 3, 2015

In line with LOC’s continual global growth and strengthening of the senior management team,  Britain has been appointed as Managing Director of the London operation.

Jonathan Britain joins LOC as Managing Director, LOC London having previously headed-up Bureau Veritas’s UK industry division. A mechanical engineer by background, he brings with him a wealth of operational management expertise. Prior to Bureau Veritas, he worked for GL Noble Denton, Germanischer Lloyd and Advantica. Established over 36 years ago, London is the largest of the LOC’s offices and the focal point for the provision of consultancy and advice to the maritime and offshore industries. Insurance, legal and offshore clients are amongst the many sectors served by the London office.

On joining LOC, Jonathan said: “I have admired LOC for many years and I am delighted to become one of the team. London remains the heart of the Group and I view my appointment here as a privilege. I believe my external experience will allow me to challenge and realign internal structures and processes and refresh management thinking. My aim is to strengthen LOC’s continual drive to deliver the highest quality services to its customers.”

Following Jonathan’s appointment, Peter Baggaley (previous MD, London) will now focus on his role as Europe-Africa Regional Director to drive growth and to ensure the continuous and seamless delivery of high quality services from the offices in those areas.

He says: “There are many growth opportunities we need to pursue, particularly in the offshore oil & gas sector in West and East Africa. Although these areas have their challenges, we are already well established and well placed to advise our clients who operate there. We should prepare ourselves for the growth that will inevitably come.”

These changes were effective from the 27 July 2015.
