Expo Attracts Top Officials

Top security and maritime officials from more than 22 countries will come together in New York next week to explore solutions for improving the security of international maritime trade in the United States and abroad. ”The Expo has become a truly global event, with speakers and exhibitors coming from all over the world,” said Michael Rosenberg, vice president, Security Division at E.J. Krause & Associates, the Expo organizer. “Maritime security is a crucial piece in the U.S. government’s fight against the threat of terrorism. Our conference program will touch on the security issues of major importance to all companies and people involved in the worldwide maritime industry.” The U.S. Maritime Security Expo will be held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, on September 18-19, 2002. With homeland supply chain security efforts focusing on container shipping and maritime infrastructure, the Security Expo has become this year¹s ³must attend² meeting for logistics, maritime, trade and security officials worldwide. The Expo will bring together government, industry, law enforcement, technology and public service officials for two days of conferences and exhibitions on ideas and actions that the maritime industry can implement to help make harbors, ports, cargo and passenger ships, bridges and employees secure from the threats of terrorism and violence. An impressive list of speakers and exhibitors are confirmed to address the conference. Over 100 exhibitors at the Expo will exhibit the latest technologies designed to aid in the fight against terrorism within the United States and abroad.
