Northrop Grumman's Stewart Honored with Achievement Award

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Becky Stewart, vice president of the submarine program at the company's Newport News sector, received the Women in Business achievement award from Inside Business for her demonstrated leadership, professional accomplishment and her commitment to the community. In her current position, Stewart leads thousands of employees who build and maintain some of the most complex machines in the world - nuclear-powered attack submarines. She oversees construction of the new Virginia-class submarines and planning and engineering services for the Navy's Seawolf and Los Angeles-class submarines. Stewart joined Northrop Grumman's Newport News sector in 1982 as a technical planner and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of ship repair, life cycle engineering, strategic planning and computer administration and control. Stewart is active in the community and has served on the board of directors for several organizations, including AMSEC LLC, the South Tidewater Association of Ship Repairers and the Center for Advanced Ship Repair and Maintenance. She served as a career coach for the College of William and Mary's master's of business administration program and mentors employees at Northrop Grumman Newport News.
