IMO – Wreck Removal Convention
The IMO issued a said that the Nairobi International Convention on Removal of Wrecks, 2007 has been adopted in Kenya. The convention will provide a legal basis for coastal States to remove, or have removed, shipwrecks that may adversely affect the safety of lives, property, or the environment when located outside the territorial sea. The convention will enter into force 12 months after it has been ratified by at least ten States.
