The new 3-in-1 solution for level gauging, high level and overfill alarm in one single tank gauge unit has been presented for improved gauging performance and more efficient handling during loading and discharge as well as easier installation. All three functions are for the first time handled by the radar technique, sharing the same deck penetration. Its level gauging, high level and overfill alarm means that all three functions are integrated in one single unit. The functions are designed as independent measuring channels, galvanically separated and intrinsically safe. Saab TankRadar STaR takes advantage of a new sensor technology. Ready-processed signals from the intelligent radar tank unit are transmitted. More frequent gauging intervals mean fast response to level changes, making it easy to act and react in fast processes for safer, more reliable loading and discharge. The integrated solution means lower installation cost due to fewer deck penetrations and less cabling. The system includes temperature measurement with up to five different sensors.
